Louisville at Marshall
Game isn't until next weekend, but we have already sold almost 33,000 tickets. Game is pretty much guaranteed to sell out. With good weather there is a good chance we can break the single game attendance record of over 41,000.

Honestly surprised it isn't already sold out. I figured that'd be a sellout the day tickets went on sale just because Louisville has a good team, good fanbase, and close proximity.

Hopefully it will be a good game, but Louisville is looking like they might be a top 5 team. If Marshall hangs with them, I'll have to move them above WKU as my favorite to win the league.

MU fans are terrible about waiting till last minute lol I am one of them. I just ordered 3 tickets last weekend. It will be standing room only on gameday and best get there several hours before kickoff if you want to find parking.

Here is the deal with UL, if your linebackers are fast you have a shot of containing their QB. If they are slow, you are toast, see the SU and UNCC games. We have fast linebackers but are unproven against top talent, so don't know about the matchup. This is the first home game in a while that I haven't been confident about our chances. I just hope for a good game, keep it close and respectable, and would be thrilled if we somehow won it.

The boys can't get too tied up in this game, they can't afford to and I hope they realize it. The very next weekend they have Pitt, and that one is a lot better odds, so they need to be up for it.

Lamar Jackson might be the best combo running and throwing college QB since Michael Vick..Anxious to see what he does this week, however he is the real deal....

I think this week will give a better picture on that talent...or decision making. No question the talent is there. Decision making is still in question. At least for me.

As we saw with Mike White...he can make great decisions vs Rice and slow DB's. Still unproven vs speed in coverage. Not comparing the two players...just the speed each QB has faced.

I though Jackson was high on most of his passes last week and if you do that against a good defense they get returned the other way. But Jackson is a fun player to watch....

will make most defenses look bad

There are many people in Huntington that will come to big games only. I wouldn't be surprised if some are waiting to see if Louisville beats FSU.

RE: Louisville at Marshall
Marshall always has a large walk up crowd purchasing tickets.

We sell around 14,000 season tickets and then average 25-28k per season.

I would also say we have close to 5,000 seats reserved for students for this game. If so, then that makes this game a sell out already. Our stadium seats 38,000 and change. Standing room only of over 41,000.

So if you count in student tickets, this game is pretty much sold out already.

Gotta agree with you here. I think he's all smoke and mirrors, especially as a passer. Definitely will be paying attention this game against FSU to see if I'm wrong.

One of the broadcast analysts in last week's game against Syracuse mentioned that he throws a better ball and was better than Mike Vick at this point in his career. I'm thinking, it must've been another college QB named Michael Vick...cause he surely couldn't be referring to the Mike Vick from VaTech.

Actually, the tickets sold number already includes the student allocation You can use the link below from Herdzone's ticket site to view seats still available. There's still a number to be had in the end zone and corners. However, this is about where we were on pace for the Purdue game a week or so out.

B-7 Bingo Sister Mary....

We have Akron to get through this week. No use in skipping this week just to talk about Sept 24th.

I expect to beat Akron but think they will be improved from 2014 when we won 48-17. How much improved is yet to be seen. They have a 47-24 win over VMI and a 54-10 loss to Wisconsin. So its hard to tell what they have. I can say they probably have no defense. VMI is usually one of the worst IAA schools in the nation. And they scored 24 on them.

I purchased 4 tickets... wife is a MU alum. There in the GA section, which looks to be a the top of the end zone side. I'm a little concerned that seating in the GA section might get cramped.

Oh. Thanks for the clarification.

I still think this game will easily sell out for us. If Louisville beats FSU and good weather, we could easily break the single game attendance record.

Yes. It will get cramped up there.

I would get into the stadium early to make sure you can lock down 4 seats together. I would shoot for the front row of that upper section if it were me.

No offense but can non students stay out of the student section. They want to sit and it just takes away from the atmosphere IMO

Gosh. I couldn't agree more. Not sure why people try to say those things.

We are fans, no reason for us to not get excited about a potential Top 5 team coming to Huntington next weekend.

Students can buy guest tickets, so I'm guessing the answer to that is no.

Just stand up in front of them to where they can't see. They will either stand, move, or who cares?

Lol Woody! I heard you yesterday on the radio....as usual.. I know you don't think much of Akron... I guess as an athlete (former), I have that ingrained mindset of not looking beyond the next game...

That being said, I believe you said that Akron has the third YOUNGEST o-line in fbs, correct? That will be a HUGE problem for them...

Btw, I look forward to talking with you at Roosters for the Pitt game..
