The contractor is still trying to figure out if the land mine threat from the unknown caller from Cullman was serious.

I heard there is a weather delay.

They have to mobilize, set up trailers, equipment etc. and also pull all the permits with the City. You will see the engineers shooting the bench marks and then shoot the foundations.

Attalla, since you have construction expertise on such projects, would you be willing to be our eyes giving occasional periodic updates on the progress of this construction in the coming months? You not only have construction expertise, but you also have face to face acquaintance with UAB folks who can explain answers to good questions.

I'll bet a lunch at Full Moon that the excavation crew finds the long ago covered over remnants of a gas station .

I found tanks on one of my projects down there and you know what I had to do...... ;-)


Bamn - I have a sneaking feeling I will look at it a time or three.

I was at City Hall this morning getting a garage sale permit. The guy in line in front of me was getting some sort of building permit and made a sarcastic remark to the worker behind the desk. Something like "Hey now- at least I didn't come in here telling you I needed something for the new UAB football facility," to which the city employee rolled his eyes and chuckled. Must be keeping them busy.

So now they are joking about the facility being built - the same one they said would not be built.
