App State 0-1
Charlotte 0-1
And thanks to App State and Ga Southern for giving the rest of us something to laugh at during all the other sports seasons.

Sure, i will be glad to remind you of this statement win Charlotte wins 3-4 conference games this season and 4-6 overall in year 2 of our FBS history.
lets be honest, if you guys win 3 or 4 conference games this year, that's not a reflection that you guys are a solid, up and coming FBS program, but rather a reflection of how bad CUSA actually is.
yep....don't see how they win a road game....and it is unlikely any home game....

Clearly you have done lots of research on Charlotte . We will be better than last year, no doubt AT ALL. Last year, we led ODU by 12 in Norfolk in the 4th quarter and pissed it away late. We led UTSA 95% of that game and refs gave them that one. Those were after losing to MT 73-14........We will definitely win SOME conference games this season.

The Charlotte football program is still at least 5 years away from competing competently with P5 schools.
Bull crap. Will you say this when Charlotte wins 3-4 conference games this season or did you say it last season when we gift-wrapped 2 conference games (should have won/led late)? If so, then I guess half of our league shouldn't schedule those kind of games either. Hell, Clemson gave up 70 points to WVU in a 2012 bowl game. Get over it, it was one game.
You feel good enough about that 3-4 conference wins this season to put some money on it?
Yes, wvu scored 70 on Clemson, but it was 49-20 at half and Geno Smith and the starting offense was still in during most of the 4th Q.
You were down 56-0 at the half and all of Louisville's starters went out for beers at halftime. It could have been 100-0.
I can't blame the fans and shouldn't give you grief, so I apologize. I do blame your administration for putting you in this position and the conference for extending a bid. They should have brought your other sports on board and let your football team in around 2019. That would have been better for everyone involved.
Last night's performance was abysmal, but they lost just about as badly to Middle Tennessee last year after having already beaten Georgia State who went on to be a bowl team.
Maybe Charlotte goes 1-11(surely they'll beat Elon) but as bad as they looked last night, I could still see them stealing a couple of games this year.

IMHO CHARLOTTE should keep their football coach on a very short leash. If they don't see progress the trigger needs to be pulled. You wait too long and you will get so far behind that fans and recruiting will decline QUICKLY.Do not wait.Do not be overly patient or it will take YEARS to even be relevant.I hope the buyout is small.Ask any WKU fan--we speak from experience.

RE: Gameday thread: Charlotte @ Louisville (#19/#23)
Meh. A team in its second year of FBS ball got drilled by a much more talented and deeper team that is a dark-horse for CFB Playoffs on the road in the season opener.
We lost to MT last year by a similar score. I didn't have high hopes for the Louisville game (even really of us simply acquitting ourselves well). Wheels came off early, especially for our D, and it just kind of snowballed. Sometimes, everything works against ya.
Put up that kind of performance again in conference and I'll be ready to start talking about how the sky is falling. Two years of FBS and Four years total mean we're remarkably thin and don't have all FBS talent on the team. It happens. There are a lot of limitations to moving quickly that can actually make the transition from no team to FCS and FCS to FBS seem to take longer. As for now, it's just kinda "meh."
I still think we win 4/5 games this year.

nope....your coaching sucked on d out of the gate...
they don't understand 'speed'...
and on O...all yaz had to do was quick slants and run until they adjusted (which wouldn't have most likely not taken long...Petrino is a arseho....but he isn't an idiot)
last night's q1 is many I sat through back in days when we were indy.....
experience sometimes carries more value than yardage....
that's just the way it works when you take the field...

Y'all came up way too fast.
You got beat by Boise State 60-7 and got blown out by FAU, pretty sure that is about equal.
No, because Boise still had their starters playing in the 2nd quarter because we weren't already down 42 points. Probably even some of the 3rd even.
You're essentially arguing semantics. Point is every team/school in this conference has had embarrassing moments.
Yes, except we won 3 conference championships before that, had 17 straight winning seasons, and built a successful body of work when the conference was actually a very good football conference.
Many programs that have been invited in the past 5 or so years have not produced anything positive whatsoever.
That being said, there are a few that have such as WKU, MTSU, and La Tech.
And lost 20 something games in a row. Let's hit all the highlights.

PLease, we'd have bowled if we played the belt teams and Presbyterian last year.
We weren't good, CUSA might not be good, but the Belt is laughable bad.

"Pay your dues" in FCS for fifty to a hundred years. Why? YOU didn't! You enrolled at a school that already had a football team since the ass crack of the dawn of civilization. You want us to clap for you getting accepted to your land grant school?
If "paying your dues" for over a century or so only got your SCHOOL'S program to this current version of C-USA..........was it really worth it all?
Most of the Charlotte, UTSA, and ODU fans on this board probably put a lot more into their football programs just to get them off the ground than any of you ever had by just donating, buying tickets, and sitting in stadiums. Save your sanctimonious attitudes for those that can't smell the **** you're spewing.
You all act like so-called Power 5 elitists, but without the bank account figures to back up your arrogance.
Sorry man, Charlotte is really bad, and will be for the foreseeable future. Just win, and everyone will get off your back
