RE: Jumbotron work...
I'm an audio engineer. The problem is they don't have any delay speakers in the stadium.

Quote:Delay speakers 101: Setting the delay time
In a large space with a complicated layout, creating a speaker design that distributes sound evenly to all parts of the room can be particularly challenging. These spaces require the use of delay speakers (also called ancillary delay speakers) to ensure high quality sound for the entire audience. The first challenge in installing delay speakers is determining where to place them, but the next acoustic design and analysis hurdle is ensuring that the speakers are properly delayed

I didn't know that, but this is what it sounds like they did.
That's why I wish they would just turn them off. If you really wanna follow the announcer's play by play...it's ridiculous.
The music...well..that's one muddled mess of riffs getting whammed around in a fish bowl. lol

I think you are trying to be cute, but the word had become a genericized trademark.
It's analogous to Kleenex in the common vernacular.
I Googled an article where somebody took a Polaroid of the Jumbo Tron and Xeroxed a copy, which was FedExed in a envelope sealed with a Band-Aid to a guy who wanted to Velcro it to the wall so he could watch TV from his Jacuzzi.
Did they write the address with a Crayon?
Why yes! They wrote the address on a Post-It note and Scotch-Taped it to the envelope.

They cant. Down low, you're barely able to hear. Up high, it's way too loud. Speakers are completely wrong. They went cheap
So Nichols is right ?

RE: Jumbotron work...
If you want good sound, fill the stadium.
No sound crew on earth can tune a system in that stadium for 22,000 one week and 55,000 the next week and 42,000 the next week.
Yes we need a new sound system, but like every year, the complaints will be rampant until the weather cools down. The system is fine in cooler weather. It is inadequate for hot day games so it will always be too loud one place and too loud another. By the end of the year people pretty much quit talking about it because the cooler weather lets the sound echo better and everyone can hear.

That is nonsense. You "tune" it for a full stadium. Period. You can't have one full array of speakers in one location in a large space and it sound good everywhere without delay speakers.

You can do that. When it is not full the concrete reflects the sound around and it loud as hell. It is a compromise
