Go Owls

In hindsight it was easy to see the a$$-whuppin' y'all put on us coming. We just beat Houston in upset fashion, became bowl-eligible and probably thought there was no chance of improving their bowl slot with a win at Temple. That last reason is nothing more than presumption on my part.

RE: Which AAC team intrigues you most for 2016?
UCF will go bowling. The resources and geographical advantages are too great. Last year was an anomaly and the common denominator is no longer in the equation.

Plus, the historical pattern suggests UCF will win big.

2004... 0-11
2005... 8-5, Division Title, Championship Game, Bowl Game

I've also noticed CSF was very cautious in his earlier post-practice reports when he would tell reporters we were practicing well but still had a long way to go and needed to adjust to the speed of his style.

In his last few interviews, however, he's had swagger and confidence in his voice as he talks about how well our team has been doing and how well they've adapted to the speed of the Oregon offense. Not to mention our offense scored 50 points in just two quarters during their last game simulation. Given, that was against the defensive 2s but when you consider it was only in two quarters, that's pretty impressive.

Unfortunately for UCF, the 2016 AAC lineup is much, much better than our 2005 C-USA schedule. So while 8-5 would be amazing, I see us more in the 6-7 win range.

My predictions for the rest of the teams:

- Houston will repeat as conference champion and will reach double-digit wins. They will not, however, win 13 and likely not 12 either. I'm thinking 10-11 wins.

- Temple will win the east with anywhere between 9-11 wins.

- S. Florida will not win more than 9 games. They never have. Not even during their Number-Two-For-A-Week season over a decade ago.

- Navy will win between 8-9 games.

- Tulane goes bowling.

- ECU's bowl hopes will come down to the final two games of the season and possibly even the very last game.

- Cincinnati will likely win 7 games and at most 8. The natives will grow restless with Tubs.

Sorry, bud.

S. Florida will help UCF gain bowl eligibility.

RE: Which AAC team intrigues you most for 2016?
I think it's my Bulls. IMO there is more uncertainty about us than anyone, meaning we have the greatest range of plausible results. It wouldn't shock me if we went unbeaten and won the AAC, and it wouldn't shock me if we won only a game or two in the conference and finished at or near the bottom. Just about everything seems possible.

And that's because I'm just not sure that our turnaround last year was "real", or whether it was just a blip that saved Taggart's job for another year. I'm itching to find out.

I don't think our range is that large. This team is deep and talented so I could see a 6-7 win to 11-12 as our range.

Hope you are correct, and agree the team is deep and talented. But we've had talent before that was disorganized on the field. Coaching matters so much.

We had talent before but it was never across the board. With Leavitt we always had talented players on defense but on offense it was always spotty. Taggart has done a better job at recruiting and building across the board in the OLine, the WRs,RBs, QBs TEs. We never had the offensive weapons we have now. It used to be you stop Grothe, or Daniels, or Hall and you could stop our offense. It always had one weapon and no other could step up. That's no longer the case.

Does Cuban know they're your Bulls? If not you may want to let him know he doesn't root for the Bulls anymore.

I'm really excited for their fans that they have a covering now for their games...that gazebo they built is really sharp and easily fits 30-40 people comfortably.

The offer still stands... if you ever make it to Tulsa for a game I'll set a folding chair aside for you.

Suuurrre blame the ice storm. When i was living in Siberia nothing stopped us from seeing a bear fight tournament. We walked 15 miles through the tundra every-time.

Very polite cmullins. Unfortunately PedoBearcat isn't allowed within 100 yards of any school, much like his pathetic football team won't be allowed within 100 yards of a win.
