The All C-USA NFLDRAFTSCOUT Team
I got to wondering how many players in C-USA are being given consideration by the NFL. Using http://www.nfldraftscout.com, I searched for the highest ranked C-USA players by position and was pleased to find that there were enough to come up with an All C-USA NFLDRAFTSCOUT Team. Obviously, there will be changes in these rankings between now and the draft next spring, and certainly not all of these guys will be drafted. What this does point out, however, is that there is a ton of talent in this conference, and keep in mind, these are only the seniors and red shirt juniors that are available for the draft this season.

On offense, I initially went with one running back, one tight end and three wide receivers, but I wound up adding a fullback, second running back and fourth wide receiver because of the various formations that are used across the conference.

On defense, I went with a basic 4-3 setup, but wound up adding a fourth linebacker (to accommodate a 3-4 defense) and two extra safeties just because it seemed like the right thing to do. (The second strong safety is ranked too low to leave out, and the second free safety is ranked immediately behind the first.) All players are eligible for the NFL draft this year according to http://www.nfldraftscout.com.

The lowest ranked player on the team is the No 5 punter, Dalton Schomp from FAU. The highest ranked is the No 86 cornerback, Aaron Young from ODU. Here’s your team, with the number indicating the player’s nfldraftscout rank by position.

QB 21 Nick Mullens USM
RB 16 Leon Allen WKU
WR 13 Taywan Taylor WKU
WR 20 Zach Pascal ODU
WR 26 Trent Taylor LT

DT 10 Larry Oqunjobi CHA
DT 76 Imarjaye Albury FIU
DE 20 Trey Hendrickson FAU

OLB 68 Nick Usher UTEP
CB 11 Jeremy Cutrer MTSU
CB 86 Aaron Young ODU
SS 7 Xavier Woods LT
FS 43 Tiqual Lang MAR
P 5 Dalton Schomp FAU

ILB 33 T J Ricks ODU
SS 20 Dnerius Antoine USM

NUMBER OF PLAYERS BY SCHOOL

WKU 7

We have the pieces , it all depends on our QB play. I think we have an extremely bright coach that will play to our strength regardless

Or maybe the other teams have better players that just happen not to be seniors. Marshall will only have 7 seniors in their 2-deep this year.

Pretty impressive to me that Larry O is considered by some the 10th best DT prospect in the country. He's such a hard worker and really exemplifies what it means to be a student athlete. He's double majoring in Computer Science and I think Biology in addition to being a great football player. Never would have thought one of our first recruits would sniff the NFL but he has a real shot if he doesn't have a letdown season.

Thanks. Fixed it.

By the way, Schomp has got NFL written all over him. He absolutely pounded the freaking ball at Foreman Field last year.
