these are non s&p (s&p in the brackets ).. these are just his personal rankings ..

TIER 3: A TOP-10 PERFORMANCE WOULD NOT BE SURPRISING
21. Houston (53)

TIER 5: A DECENT BOWL IS THE GOAL
48. South Florida (41)
61. Temple (61)

TIER 6: MID-MAJOR UP-AND-COMERS AND POWER-CONFERENCE DEAD WEIGHT
67. Memphis (77)
73. Navy (66)
74. Cincinnati (70)
81. Connecticut (81)
86. East Carolina (78)
89. Tulsa (93)
92. Central Florida (99)

TIER 7: :(
100. SMU (98)
113. Tulane (122)

TIER 8: :( :( :(
no AAC in the worst tier

overall a pretty big p5 bias but clearly has the AAC as the best G5 by a HUGE margin top to bottom

has ucf higher than 80% of c-usa & sunbelt 70% of the mac, 60% of the MWC

Jesus Christ. That should be impossible at a place like Kansas.

Bill Connelly can take his "luck" and shove it up his ass. He couldn't explain our secondary's ability to cause turnovers, so he just chalked it up to "luck" and did so for 3 years. He was proven wrong, and it's hilarious that he is doubling-down on that premise yet again. I guess the thought is that he'll be correct eventually.

It must also be "luck" then, that 3 players from that secondary are currently on NFL rosters, including a 1st round pick. Everyone on this board watched and knows how good Jackson (he could shut down an entire side of the field by himself), McDonald, Stewart, Hightower, and Wilson were last year.

I'd bet nearly my life that Syracuse, Boston College, and Rutgers are not better than Cincinnati and Navy.

But I think his tiering system is decent and nobody will get agreement on a 128 team ranking.

i've explained this over and over again. That's not what he did and it's a misreading of what the concept of "turnover luck" is. He absolutely talks about that causing turnovers is often a skill, but there are certain aspects (say you recover a insane percentage of the fumbles you force) that all statistical evidence shows in really luck driven. Houston fans hatred of Connelly continues to be silly... and even he will tell you that no system gets everything right 100% of the time. Maybe you're right that his numbers miss on Houston... so what... it isn't an insult to Houston. Stop being such babies.

Rankings seem a little low all around if you ask me.
