RE: 2016 volleyball season
Barring some general craziness, we look to be locked in to a UTA/Little Rock first round game.

RE: 2016 volleyball season
AState clinches a share of the conference title at least and the overall #1 seed in the tournament with a 3-1 win at Little Rock. Red Wolves lost only 7 sets in conference play this season. Five of the 7 were to Coastal and Texas State.

TXST beats ULL 3-0 to end the season 20-11(13-3). Will be 3 seed in the tournament and take on whoever ends up being the 6.

Just so UTA and TXST don't feel too bad, TAMUCC ended the season 21-7(16-0). Basically plowed through the SLC.
Two of their losses were to ranked teams

RE: 2016 volleyball season
Tournament Seeding:

1. Arkansas State (3-2 win over Coastal)
2. Coastal Carolina (3-2 loss to Arkansas State)
3. Texas State
4. Texas Arlington
5. Little Rock
6. South Alabama (5-3 in Sets against Georgia Southern)
7. Georgia Southern (3-5 in Sets against South Alabama)
8. Louisiana (3-0 win over Georgia State)

Tournament Matchups

#7 Georgia Southern vs #2 Coastal Carolina
#6 South Alabama vs #3 Texas State
#8 Louisiana vs #1 Arkansas State
#5 Little Rock vs #4 Texas Arlington.

If I remember right, UTA gets to choose their first round match time, so my guess is they will take the 7:30 CT start, which automatically puts AState/UL at 5:00 and the other 2 matches in the Afternoon session.

RE: 2016 volleyball season
Wait, Georgia State qualifies for the league tournament despite finishing with the same record as the Cajuns, and getting swept by the Cajuns, simply because they finished 4th in the East?

That's stupid.

Welcome to divisional play. Four teams in the west finish .500 or better. One team in the east can say the same. It is clear which division is stronger. But all divisions are equal somehow when it comes to postseason play.

It's weird that they would seed the tournament based off of overall league record, but not award tournament spots based off that.

I mean, I'm sure Little Rock is glad they didn't though. If they seeded 4W against 1E, they would be stuck opening with Coastal Carolina.
