This article doesn't say they are the first to be contacted. It says they officially received word to apply. Which is really odd, since they should have applied a long time ago.

This article literally proves only that FOIA exists and that UCONN has a pulse. UCONN could end up being the only school selected in some weird idiotic B12 twist...and this still would have had no bearing.

They were the first...the letter said:

"Thank you for your interest in the Big 12 Conference. Although your accomplishments are considerable, we are pursuing other candidates at this time. Don't call us, we'll call you if anything changes. Best regards"
