After looking at the picks, every state with P5 Schools, within the boundaries of that state were in fact selected over every other state school(s) There where two exceptions Marshall. and Navy The only G5 teams selected over a P5 team in their state.

Maryland's best team 2016 - Navy
West Virginia's best team 2016 - Marshall

Congratulations Marshall
With the P5 bias from the media, it is good to see the recognition for your hard work and success you have had the last few years.

* There were a few states with no FBS teams and FCS schools were selected. Idaho, Hawaii, Nevada and a few others with no P5 schools.

Looks like Colorado State was selected over Colorado too. I know everyone forgets that Colorado football exists these days, but that probably still counts.

w/o 'popping' it open, I easily 'came' to that same conclusion....no differently than speed-dial-a-ho 'good times'....

does anyone have anything to do in the journalistic world that is worthwhile anymore????

just another 'wow' moment in space....

Wow, here, in the state of Florida we are never likely to see a second tier school be nominated for the top program in the state. A few years back, South Florida was knocking on that door. But they had no depth to stay at the top long.

Firing that coach had everything to do with them sucking again. I loved that coach.

Well, there in state of Florida, you have three programs that are among the best in the country, I'd be willing to bet that over the last 30 years there likely hasn't been any seasons that none of the three were in the top 25. I'd bet that in more than half those thirty years at least one of the three was a top ten team.

On the other end of the spectrum, USF, FAU and FIU have never won more than nine games as FBS programs.

USF did get ranked as high as #2 in the nation once.

They were also considered a BCS program at the time when they climbed to #2. My guess is if the BE would have been the AAC at the time they would have never got past 12-15 in the rankings, if that even.
