Bama's stadium seats twice as many as this stadium will hold. It is doubtful that the Tide will play there, even in one of their low-attendance FCS cupcake games they couldn't pack in their crowds.

Agreed. They should make a horseshoe and put more seats on the pressbox side. And is the press/suites too low?

Seems to me you lose an opportunity to create more revenue more seats on the sideline.

Keeping the profile of the stadium low is intended to keep it from blocking the view of the city skyline. Stadiums, while beautiful when built, can become a monstrous eyesore and take away from a city's landscape. It is a trend in stadiums and we will see more of this in the future.

I like the new renderings! Both ODU and UAB getting new stadiums? This is great for CUSA.

We just got ours a couple months ago and its always packed in Va Beach too. Last time I went at 10 in the morning so I didn't have to wait 2 hours.

I haven't been to the one in the city, but there's one three miles from me in Alpharetta, they have to use digital traffic signs to keep people from parking on the street.

I see Charlotte will be jooning ODU, UNT and UTSA as CUSA cities with a TopGolf in market.

I'm not a fan of this design either. It looks amateurish and the home side looks small-time and awkard. I was definitely expecting more out of a world-reknowned architectural design firm. That being said, any new stadium will be a better situation for the football program and it's been a long time coming.

As far as the "pre-planned" additional seating, they are added at the top of the stadium and are the reason for that odd looking wide concourse between the seats and the exterior of the stadium. The first image below is the standard 45,000 seats; the second shows the inclusion of the additional seating.

For reference, Legacy Arena is where the last 2 C-USA Basketball tournaments have been held.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean, if it's this or Legion Field, definitely go with this. This design, though, just seems bland and has no real unique traits to it, aside from the fact that it kinda looks like a soccer/tennis stadium set up for football.

Took me a moment as well, it's the last (10? 20?) rows in the upper deck. Notice the green goes all the way to the back in the 2nd photo.

Yeah the proposal includes building two new parking decks close by. The city is also studying a downtown bus circulator but I'll believe that when I see it.

I think it would have been more obvious with a little more detailed rendering, I'm not exactly sure how the temporary seating will be moved in and out, but I can't imagine the final product looking that nearly seamlessly integrated.

I like the design. I think the small home side is to force more fans to sit elsewhere. No more "all of the crowd is out of sight of the cameras" excuse.

What's funny is you talking attendance smack yet again. Glass houses bub. I've been to your stadium before and so have many of us here.

Keep in mind your entire stadium capacity would fit on the home side of Legion Field and let that sink in.

Attendance smack from a team that drew less fans than UAB in 2014 our last year. That's rich.
