So mlive's Justin caught some flack for pointing out that the reason Carson was able to get this scholly is that they three recruits departed in July.

I didn't think it was a bad thing to point that out in his article. Thoughts?

Absolutely fair to raise the question/point as long as it was researched and their were no scholarships available had the departures not happened. Kind of a unintentional cut on the kid who earned the schools though.

What flack? I don't see anything wrong with indicating that scholarships became available due to players leaving the program.. I mean... seems kind of obvious.

Its kind of a kick to the kidneys given they just left... and the effort that went in to getting these guys in a bronco uni, only to have them basically just walk out... So it comes off as a slight I suppose, or could be taken that way... in an otherwise uplifting article...

It was relevant. He should be able to mention that Carson got it due to those being made available in my opinion. Not sure why the commenters would try and give Justin a hard time.
