Air Force unis
Looks to me like the AFA knocked off the ULM P-40 unis. I will say the did the helmet that we should have done. In my opinion something similar should be our permanent lids.

At least App isn't the only school to have lost all sense of history & tradition. But a military academy?

Looks like they are planning to wear it against GAST.

P-40's were Army Air Corps too, not Air Force. Of course that later became Air Force, but still.

The shark nose is from the Flying Tigers, not p-40 itself. The 23rd happened to fly P-40s (and well past their expiration date).

Yeah they were. Don't know why so many people got hyped up about them. The Navy uniforms from 2014, however, were awesome.

Badass plane btw.

The website said they were for the the A-10 I believe.
When you think about it, it's cool yet sort of strange to see a "shark" paint job on a Warthog.

LOVE this plane, and this paint job - so I have to love the uniform.

What can I say, I'm an Air Force brat and to add some irony.... I was born on a Navy base.

Which is part of my excuse to be the only member of my family pulling for Navy over Air Force in football. The real reason is that they run the old GA Southern offense, if they drop that - I'm back on the Falcon's side.

The helmet is green. An obvious reference to the 1st AVG better known as the fighting tigers. The 1st AVG was absorbed into the Army Air Corp in July 1942 and became the 23rd Fighter Group. The 23rd kept the shark face/mouth nose art. Hence the A-10 with shark teeth

Hard to believe the higher ups in the USAF are continually tryng to scrap it. Must be getting some kickback from another mfg pushing a newer plane. In this article is a great video about the A-10. Some say the AF has tried to supress it.

I did to, then saw some other teams wearing almost the same helmet just different logo. And I thought.... they shouldn't do that... that looks like a Navy helmet!

That hole idea should have been exclusive Navy, looked sharp on them.

The thing I hate is we have been talking about making the shark teeth helmet our alt helmet. Even though it appears they copied a lot of our uni at AF, it will for sure look like we copied them if we do the shark teeth helmet now.

That logo has been in use by the airforce and its predecessors since 1941. They have claim to it.

Actually the logo and name came from General Chenault, who lived in Monroe and who's museum is here along with his family, and started the volunteer force that flew with the Chinese against the Japanese. The museum and family endorses ULM's use of the Warhawks. Of course, I agree the AF can use the logo. More or less saying we missed the boat on the design on our helmets.

Actually Chenalt's American Volunteer Group popularly known as the flying tigers got the idea form a British unit in North Africa who got the idea from a German unit. The AVG was absorbed into the USAAF in July of 1942 and became the 23rd fighter group which uses the Sharks mouth to this day
