The last good stretch was from 1998-2007. For the answer, all you had to do is clink on UMass Football Wiki link in my signature.

RE: UMass Hype Train Has Left the Station
Going to post this now and feel the Gators will make some solid half-time adjustments.
At the half Florida 10 - UMass 7.

So far not too much in terms of improvements from Florida. Still only down 6 will ~10 minutes to play.
Edit: short lived since I posted this, but unless something dramatic happens this will at the very least not be an embarrassing start to the season. Most certainly going to be within the spread.

RE: UMass Hype Train Has Left the Station
We killed the 36 point spread. We're getting better but with this schedule, it may not show with wins and losses.

Quote:@diegofellows busses are currently sold out, going to do our best to try and add more. On a positive note, student demand has been great.
Student buses for the BC game are sold out, expecting well over 30k for first home game abeit it's Gillette.

Our home attendance should hopefully be much better this year outside of just this game...hopefully the Miss. St. game brings a nice big crowd to Gillette and homecoming gets sold out on campus. But glad to hear the student buses are sold out.
The fact that the Florida game was actually competitive for the majority of it can only help. Now to get that ability to be competitive to turn into some wins and raise the perception of the team a little.
Related here: working in Boston I get to see a lot of the ads around town. I've also had a few conversations about this game in general from people who aren't affiliated with either school. One common theme: the marketing for the game has been very good...so hopefully that gets some unaffiliated locals (mostly high school parents and their football playing kids) to attend.

You might not care that our opening day attendance will be higher than yours: UC 28,520. Yes, we have significant things to address starting our 5th year as FBS. We will celebrate all that is good as all fans do. Good luck in the future and hope to play you in BB in a few years so we can kick your a$$.

While it's not really the best barometer, since it'll involve a good portion of BC fans, where do you think the home opener attendance numbers would put us in the AAC standings for opening weeks this year? Probably not going to break 40K, so that would keep us definitely behind ECU and Memphis.

You're just jealous that no one is willing to buy a bowling league trophy to create an awkward rivalry with memphis.

UMass would help the basketball side and not significantly degrade the football side
