Actually, no, all water does not drain to the Mississippi. The San Marcos River flows into the Guadelupe which flows into the Gulf Mexico. But yes, we could start in a canoe on the St Francis or Cache River and make our way to the Mississippi and then the Gulf to get to San Marcos. Want to give it a try?
Sounds like a fun way to spend summer vacation with your pals!

We were planning on inviting you too. Maybe we could film it for a documentary to air on Netflix.
That sounds like a plan to me.

I already mapped it out. We could actually start in Whitman Creek in Jonesboro, it eventually dumps into the St Francis River.

We'll figure out how many days it will take so we know when to leave so we roll through San Marcos on Dec 3, and walk to the stadium from the river.

I can't tell you how long it would take to paddle upstream to Campus from the Gulf - but there is a canoe race every year to do just the opposite.
Texas Water Safari
The Texas Water Safari starts on campus, across the street from Bobcat Stadium and ends in on the gulf coast in Seadrift, Texas - 260 miles away.
It's in June, though.

Heck with that, I want to see them make it from LA to TX across the Gulf.

I wouldn't go in the gulf. I'd stay in the calm, protected waters of the intercostal waterway.
