It's a consequence of being out of the national spotlight for the last few years. After Pastner's final two years, our national reputation is about where it was when Calipari took over - a team with a good history but hasn't done much in a few years.

And we need not only a hell of a coach-Tubby may be that-but also a promoter like Cal to get butts back in the seats; Tubby is NOT THAT. And Bowen doesn't help matters with terrible scheduling-don't think Pastner had anything to do with this mess of a schedule.

So Opie put the program on life support and now Bowen is pulling the plug?

That's basically what I said. Tubby may be a great coach but can't recruit worth a darn-with his recruiting this far and Pastner running everyone off, we are between a rock and a hard place with this thin roster. We could win under 10 games.

So I'm sure you'll give Tubby credit for every win +10?

Would you? Would be a disastrous season which will make his weak recruiting even harder.

Just projecting your 10 win comment, "we could win under 10 games". If that is your feeling, I'd think you'd give Tubby coaching credit if we win more, based upon your statement. I see us winning 18+, as many as 22 prior to the conference tourney. I also see us not getting a tourney bid given the weak schedule, even with 22 wins going into the conference tourney & maybe as many as 24 after the conference tourney - and still not get a tourney bid. But even without a tourney bid, winning 18+ will be a credit to the coach & the team pulling together.

So a coach that has never won under 10 games is suddenly going to do that in one of the weakest conferences he's ever coached in?

Has he ever took over a program with this much of a shortage of players? I've heard that he was shocked when he saw the roster

Zero empathy.

The roster is their choice.

This year we need an easy schedule. That said this schedule is pretty bad. I urge our fans not to blame the current staff. 75% of the schedule was pre-set before Coach Smith arrived.

Hopefully future schedules will bring better names to Fedex Forum

Scheduling won't help with a roster that will do a great job to win 12-14 games. No one likes to see Tigers lose at home-especially as much as we will this year with current roster.
