You apparently never saw the old SAE "houses."

I lived in them. Address was 3601 Midland. They were something else.

They got torn down my Freshman year. We had a dirt lot and then my guys were the first to move in the "new" house my Jr. year.

Phi Alpha, brothers.

Lived at 3601 for 3 years in mid 80s. Was there on Thanksgiving day 1984 when the barn burned down. Slow news day, all the local TV came and interviewed us.

3601 was a blast, but a dump. Most valuable fraternity officer was the House Manager - chore just to keep electricity on. We used to have a pile of blown fuses by the fuse box. And let's not bring up the plumbing.

Phi Alpha. I was one of the first to live in the new house 99-03, including a short stay of a house mother. I went back a few years after I graduated and the house had gone to shat.

I was looking at a lineup of the ATO circa 1986-1989 , quite a line-up of accomplished men.

Lambda Chi Luau Party. This was probably taken in the 70's when we had the new house we
rented from the university. I think ATO, SAE and The Pikes also had houses in that area south
of the railroad tracks on Normal.

The updated master plan shows a detailed greek plan/area in the heart of campus. I was not a Greek, but I understand how a heathy Greek system is attractive to potential students and serves as a high energy group of fans that support all athletic events.

You were a ping pong. Lol. How would you know, you never got within 100 ft of our house. I lived there in 86. Greatest thing in the history of your chapter was a 2 point win over us in the rain. We still won the championship...in everything. Dont act like you cant remember. Im not sure i ever met ping pong.

SK, that is so sad that you remember some game from 30 years ago. And I was in your house by the Engineering many times. Went to CBHS with a lot of the Pikes.

I remember all the Pikes coming to our band parties on Midland after campus police shut your parties down at like 11:00.

Hahahaha. Funny stuff.

We got put on probation because the guy that drove the beer truck got drunk atba party and lost his keys and the truck was there for 3 days. Carpenter drove by everyday. We had to turn in a guest list so we turned in the memphis phone book.

Lol. SAE was about dead in the 80's. Its ok dude.

That was the thing about the Pikes - decent guys, but so insecure. You demonstrate them well. You cared so much about what everyone else thought. Forgotten over on the east side of campus by yourselves. We never even thought about you.

I remember one time the KAs and the Pikes had a big fight at one of our parties. We kicked you out and let the KAs stay.

Your president - kind of nerdy short guy with glasses. Remember him complaining about all the permits Pike had to complete to plan a party, since you didn't own your house off campus like the real Frats did. I told him all we needed to have a band play in our backyard was an extension cord.

I was an E in the late 80's and early 90's. And I knew many Pikes. In general, we got along because we were very similar fraternities. Most Pikes came from G'town high school Most E's came from the Catholic schools, e.g. CBHS, etc. Everyone generally got along.

Of course, SAE owned the Pikes in intramural boxing. Owned them. And tell me again what happened to the Pike chapter at the U of M?
