I think GS has the makeup of a top-10 G5 team, but I don't think that's where this season will end.

If I was allowed to take the Eagles' games/locations and build my own schedule, I could see a world where they finish 10-2 or even 11-1 and are an outside access bowl candidate. But I don't get to do that and the schedule is brutal. An 8-4 season is probably the median guess and anything over 9 wins should earn GS a parade.

Ole Miss is nowhere near unbeatable. They were hammered by Memphis last season. Start to finish dismantling

I hope you are recovering well from an obvious hard blow to the head.........

you will play well for a half as they "feel you out"........the rest will be something to forget.

RE: Sun Belt Could Exceed Expectations This Year
Ole Miss is without their first-round wide receiver, has a very pedestrian running offense, and their defense (at least last year) wasn't anything to write home about.

They're probably an 8-4 or 7-5 team and not a top 10 like all the preseason rankings has them.

with all of Old Miss off the field problems, and a lot of their best talent heading to the NFL, I agree they look more like an 8-4 or 7-5 team than a 10-2 team, I think GS has a realistic chance to pull off the upset.

Offseason problems are overrated. Most teams come out stronger because everyone doubts them and then they become a Cinderella story. Some people are banking on ULL and GS NCAA problems as a reason for them being weaker. I doubt that will be the case. Problems don't always add up. At some point, coaches and players say enough is enough and we're gonna prove that all of this negative media attention is just more fuel to the fire.

Man's greatest innovations have always come during man's greatest struggles.

Sav St....fourth string in by third qtr.

WMU-I dont see how us owning the MAC champ and WMU last year makes us an underdog against WMU this year but we are. Still should win if we take care of the ball.

GT- Honestly they stunk last year and had one good win. After Houston dismantled FSU that win was even less impressive. I think this game is 50/50 our secondary is our biggest unkown on D and well they will be extra line backers vs. pass protecting. 60/40 at worst.

Ole Miss- If they did not pay players and had to recruit kids to play in Miss on merit alone we would have a chance. We will need to be +3 in T.O. dept. to have a shot.

For GS to help conference perception we have to go 3-1. Going 2-2 and having close losses to GT and especially Ole Mi$$ might help some.

Cajun fans I would not put Boise and uga as DEFINATE losses. Richt was not a moron I doubt Kirby is going to have uga at AL's level in one year. Coaching changes can have a neagative effect year one. Ill be pulling for ya for sure.

Do you think GS will be an underdog to Georgia State since you took a brutal beat down on your home field at the hands of the Panthers?

Be aware that there are a lot of Arkansas State fans who claim to be Ole Miss fans because of Hugh Freeze.

Memphis had an NFL quality passer. He picked a huge fast defense apart. You don't have the passing game or the physical superiority required to compete. You will be humiliated if they don't call off their defence in tbe 2nd half.

We're always told we'll be humiliated when we face P5s, and usually aren't. Next. 07-coffee3

Watched stAte play many a close game in Oxford up through the 3rd quarter. then the depth and bad calls by SEC refs put the game out of reach. Ole Miss will be a little down this year but Freeze has had 4 great recruiting classes so I think the Eagles will have tough time. not sure what the early line is but I expect Ole Miss will be at least a 20 point favorite.

as for stAte and Auburn, we played them tough there a few years ago, but Malzahan has a lot on the line this year and he can't afford a loss to stAte. I think the game will be closer, but I wouldn't put any grocery money on a stAte win.

If I were a betting man. I have never bet on any sporting event in my life but I almost emptied by business equity account to place a bet on the GS / NC State game. They sucked and we turnded the corner the last three or four games of the previous season. UF sucked bad but their players were still 10X the players NC could ever put on the field at one time.

The App / UT game might be one of those I look back on as well. Obvsiously UT has the players to break out unlike NC State though.

Since 2012 Memphis's best class was last year at 65th in the country before that they did not crack 78th. You would have said the same thing about Memphis before that game as well. We are rightfully the underdog but dont make Memphis out to be Boise or Houston level talented. IF they did not cheat at the highest level of cheating in the NCAA like when the game was scheduled we might have a better shot.
