Good deal. Any more
opportunity to expose our conference to people is a good one.

Like how the games are still on WatchESPN and ESPN3.com with no blackout restrictions.
That Boise/Cajuns game might as well be played on the surface of the sun.

It's a network. The parent company owns a good deal of local broadcasters that will air games

Yes, it is like a tiny fledgling version of Fox SportSouth without the backing of the Fox name. It is owned by Sinclair, which owns a ton of stations all over the country. I believe the press release says there are only 22 stations that are full-on ASN (not sure where they are). But any Sinclair station that has a programming void can pick up ASN content and air it, so the potential for being in more markets than just those 22 is there.
Also for those games that ASN chooses, they will provide the announcers, production costs, etc. and provide their feed to ESPN3 for internet broadcast.
Also this is for 8 football games this year, and 10 basketball games.

Essentially it is a way to get teams onto Cable television instead of only on ESPN3.

ASN did a pretty good job last year for the App State/ODU game once they were finally able to broadcast the game on tv. Here in the Tidewater region, they had another game on for the first 10 minutes or so, instead of the App State/ODU game which really upset a lot of people.

One bad game to broadcast a blowout, which some would also consider a bad game.

I think of it more like a Raycom trying to build a SportsSouth.
I don't know the 22 markets that are 24/7 ASN but here is the presser with the initial 10: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raycom_Med...n_stations
I count 16 on this wiki page listed as ASN: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Sports_Network
So they are definitely branching out and could become the G5 channel if they grow enough to invest in conferences.

This should help to find your stations. Enjoyed catching some CUSA games last year on ASN. Looking forward to see the Sunbelt. http://www.theinfolist.com/php/SummaryGe...%20Network
Not looking for stations, thanks. It was a comment that there are no TXST games being broadcast.

Yeah I'm liking the Cajuns as a bet given that start time.

Non Sinclair stations can show the games too if they want. I'm assuming for a fee.
WCCB in Charlotte isn't a Sinclair station, but they always show the ASN broadcasts.
If any of you are in the Greensboro area, they have one of the 24 hour ASN stations, but it isn't in HD. If you live in Charlotte and you have a pretty good amplified antenna, you can pick up the Greensboro station.
