Silly rumors

If they did I would take it. Heck I would take almost anything to get a big 12 invite.

RE: Coog High Friends and Family
I'm with Panic, living in Texas you've seen this before. When the politicians and heavy hitters get involved things get done. This goes all the way back to early 90's when Politicians blocked A&M from going to SEC w/o UT. Then UT, TT, A&M to Big 12 w/o Baylor, and now Big 12 expansion w/o UH.

With Powers and Dodds no longer at the helm of UT, it appears the scale of UT's power within the Big 12 has deminished. Right now would be the perfect time for Boren and the other Big 12 Presidents to put an end to the LHN. If UT wants UH in the Big 12, they should forfeit the LHN network. Boren has the clout to persuade the Presidents to block UH. It's all about agendas. The financial implications of expanding the UT system into the city of Houston would outweigh the $5-$8 mil loss of trading the LHN for a Big 12 network. I believe UT rakes in $15 mil from the LHN, and a Big 12 Network would likely pay each school $7-$10 mil annually.

IMO, UH has the best chance of capitalizing on increased revenues, even a reduced shares in the short-term.

Congrats to UH, I hope Tulsa remains on the OOC schedule every so many years in football, and annually in basketball.

IMO, if UT does not forfeit the LHN during this expansion phase, Boren will cash the pro-rata checks from the FOX/ESPN deal, and look to exit the Big 12 once the current TV expires in 2025.

If UT does forfeit the LHN during this expansion phase, a new deal is likely struck between FOX and ESPN, part of which includes the rights to a Big 12 Network.

Texas is gone if they try to remove the LHN into a big 12 network.

I am going to miss the hell out of playing UH every year. The last 11 seasons have been the best 11 seasons of Tulsa football since the the Rubley years. Playing UH every year has been a huge part of that success. Hopefully teh rivalry will live on with a long term OOC deal.

There is no other school in the league that deserves a Big 12 invite more than the University of Houston.

You will always be my favorite team in the new Big 12.

There are some reasons for these coordinated tweets and it's not because Texas is looking out for the best interest of UH. This might just killed expansion all together because there are other Big 12 schools that are against UH being added and recruit the Houston area heavily

Well either way UH wins then. We either kill expansion and get to stay in the best G5 conference or texas forces everyone to let uh in and we go to the big 12.

RE: Coog High Friends and Family
I've always believed the Big12 made a poor huge mistake by inviting 2 very low tiny zero Texas markets in Waco/Baylor and Lubbock/Tech.

Had it been say perhaps UT, A&M, Houston and SMU/Dallas the Big12 would of been so much more appealing for the casual fans and profitable for their tv partners. Heck, even if said Big12 with Houston in it, a&m gone to the sec the Big12 would've been just fine.
