So happy for DJ. A quality young man with unbelievable athletic ability. Great news for this true Tiger who played his heart out every second he was on the floor. I know he is still doing the same and working hard on his game.

I am obviously just as excited as everyone else but gotta be Debbie Downer for a second for people who don't totally follow the NBA. This is a partially guaranteed deal so while that is really cool it also means that he could easily be waived before the season starts. So just don't get too upset if that happens. He still has to show what he can do in training camp and pre-season. Which I think he can do based on how he has been playing.

I don't know that DJ counts as in the NBA yet. He'll get paid, but he's still going to have to make his way onto the roster, which is far from a given.

Stephens is from the Killeen/Temple area. Nowhere near Memphis.

Obviously the Grizz see something they can work with and they signed him to avoid another team doing so, but it's not an automatic he's gonna be on the roster.

The grizzlies always have a need for a guy to come off the bench to give them some energy. Kind of like James Johnson did a few years ago.
