Plus it helps us grab Cincy kids possibly stuck with a decision between Kentucky, Purdue, and a couple MAC schools.

The only one I clearly disagree on is that it would make a mockery of the SEC. SEC rep doesn't live and die with Kentucky football. Kentucky football is insignificant to SEC rep and that's only one reason I don't like this schedule.

Toledo beating Kentucky doesn't mean "real ball" is played here. It just means Kentucky ball is as expected and they're already out recruiting us for better locals. They shouldn't even BE in this neighborhood and they wouldn't be, if not for the local connection and their willingness to offer every kid that breaths. I don't like their ethics, so I don't like them on our schedule.

Better ball isn't the only reason, if even the main reason a kid chooses a program. They still have that campus. It's away but not far away and they have good recruiters coming in here. I don't think a win gives us a recruiting edge for a kid thinking of going away to school.

I still say, lose-lose for us, win-win for them. Accepting a one and done from Kentucky in football lowers our rep, IMO but mostly, I just don't care for their program.

It's a SEC game on the road. They are still considered to at the level of the top MAC programs and above Big Ten programs like: Illinois, Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers. Trust me, a Toledo win against a second SEC program would raise some eyebrows nationally. In 2012, MAC East Champ Kent State(11-3) lost 47-14 in Lexington. The more P-5 wins for the Rockets the better. If UT can walk away with the win and a big paycheck, it beats a win over a FCS program in the Glass Bowl.

Boca, you mean like last year and Arkansas?????........... 05-stirthepot

I don't envy MOB. We keep beating P5 schools at home and on the road and its not like people are returning his calls. You think Penn St, Michigan, Arkansas will be scheduling us anytime in the near future. One and done might be our only option to play some of these schools. We will need to ask ourselves if we can live with CSU, Fresno, Kentucky, Purdue type games as Non conf match ups vs the top end Sec and B14 schools. I would rather play Vanderbilt vs Maine at home. But again they (P5) needs to return our calls.

On the other hand, against my own opinion, it is kind of nice seeing an SEC team that needs to use us as a stepping stone to respectability. Just not sure why we're giving it to them in a one and done.
