RE: AAC Admins are meeting tonight
B12 could take 4 teams from the AAC, if the B12 is looking East for market share. The B12 could take Memphis , Cincinnati, Connecticut, and Temple. Hoston could replace one of the aforementioned teams, but I highly doubt it, because the B12 already has 4 Texas teams. 07-coffee3

Houston is in. The question is who is the other team or 3 teams. Temple is not even in radar.

I like to believe Houston has three probably even four options if the AAC loses 2 - 3 members... But the 4th being the least likely favorable.

Big12 - Political muscle may just be enough to push Houston in.
PAC - Want into Texas
Independent - My favorite... Could schedule anyone we want and still come out fine.

MWC - Not what Houston wants best remain in the AAC if either of the three options above pan out.

A lot wrong with independence now:

1. No access (however limited) to the playoffs
2. Trouble with late season scheduling.
3. No gauranteed access to bowls.

Just to name a few reasons why it's a bad idea.

I would have included them, but being an AAC geographic outlier in Spokane WA, I figured they pretty much wouldn’t be interested.

The NCAA doesn't decide how many teams you need to hold a CCG. The FBS conferences do with the P5 getting the biggest say.

There are valuable teams out there that have good sports.
Does anyone think that Aresco will read that email written like that anyway?

Does anyone think any email sent to a conference commissioner from a fan, if it ever got past the spam filter to begin with, would be taken seriously?

I was simply using this proposed fictitious email, albeit in my own poorly written style, to make a point that in my opinion from TV contract standpoint no CUSA, SBC or MAC football programs will replace the value we lose and the quality of the basketball product needs to be considered as well.

It's only one mans poorly written opinion, an opinion which we all know holds about as much weight, which is zero, as all the other conference expansion experts on here.
Serious apologies for being critical of something meant for comic relief; I'll now know to take all of your comments accordingly. I didn't realize that you were like Quo, Shere, Bearcats1, etc and not to be taken seriously.

Right.

A lot of programs would be "independent" if it was advantageous.

It's just not at this time.

What happens to the money that Cincinnati, UConn, and USF got from the Big East basketball schools if they leave?

Yeah, I know, but it explains what could happen to your tv contact with espn. If UH and Cinn. Leave they can terminate the contract.

I think its going to run out pretty soon anyway. I would assume they would split any remaining shares due to departing members amongst the entire conference though.

To excited thinking about the potential to schedule top name programs we rarely ever play against here in Houston.

USC/Trojans - Michigan - Penn State - etc.

But you nailed it with 1 - 3
