Yes, I did know that.
However, 1999 was 17 years ago.

At my age that's like yesterday. I also took my Girl Scouts there to do community service hours so it doesn't seem that long ago. We removed ours 4 years ago but it's like it was never there. Not everyone has a T&F facility if they are an older school and it takes time.

Our school is 107. We have one. What is old?

In Boone the issue is not money (building a track is relatively inexpensive) it's about having available flat land to do it...which there is very little of. The delay is the town owns a piece of property ideal for a T&F facility but is obstinately holding out for an overinflated valuation and because the town council desperately wants to check the growth of the university (ignoring the fact that without it, there would be no town). Until something shakes, realistically there's no where to put a track facility.

Just buy up 1 or 2 of those cheap strip shopping centers that are all along Hwy. 321 (all on flat land) right next door to your campus.

TXST removed theirs at 113. Hang in there.
(UT removed theirs at 116)

While I'm sure this was only said for a weak attempt at smack, there is an area for sale on 321 behind Boone Mall that would make a good track facility. Factory that shut down now has a very large vacant lot that could be pretty easily turned into a separate track.

I don't know how much room you have to talk with UNCC being based in Concord, which even Charlotteans don't even want to claim.

Whoa, Haus. UNC-C is in Harrisburg. Concord proudly claims Barber-Scotia College.

I'm not great at paint, but I did my best. I made another picture but it was too large to include as an attachment. Not sure how to do it otherwise. Anyway, my dream for expansion is to fill in the corners of the NEZ first, then add a few more seats toward the corners of the SEZ if needed. Once we get huge (duh) we'll have to start adding onto the upper decks. I also see the east side deck being bricked in with a facade to hide all the metal and make a more sheltered area for amenities. Nearly all of these improvements are well within reach. After seating in the NEZ and SEZ is completed, capacity is ~40,000.

I'll be curious what we do with those corners. I think we will have that complex finished by Miami. I'm looking forward to the final design.

Capacity 75k
Think the sand can hold up the weight?
Back filled with dead gnats, holds up really good.
Id love it if we could just fill in the corners and add suites on the east side. I'm not sure how we'd put those seats in the south endzone. Guess we'd have to lower the field and consequently add lower seats all the way around the stadium.
I know we rarely sell out but it would be worth it for when we host p5s, SMU, UH, and UTSA. Heck maybe even when host Tulsa and Wyoming too. I know those aren't huge names but neither is USM and we almost sold out for them.

The rendering is a few years old and whoever did it didn't allow for the team tunnel in the SEZ complex. It is a bit odd but I think it's doable to add some there; just not how it is depicted here.
