I like the general direction we are going as well. And... Until it stops working in willing to give Coach Keatts a pass on who is or isn't on the team.

He's tall and he's big and that's it. He has terrible hands, and can't make an uncontested shot from two feet using the backboard.

If you watched Cacok in the CAA tournament and NCAA tournament, he got to rebounds Getty's could have never gotten. He can also run the court and score in the post. Cacok will make everyone forget Gettys starting this year. I think he became confident in the post season, and is going to be aggressive on offense and defense from the start. I expect big things in his Sophomore season. Combined with Elmore at the 4, I think our post play will be vastly better than last year.

Well, all of that is true. But don't underestimate the benefits of being tall and big...something the new-look Seahawks are not. Plumlee looked like an All-American matched up against our under-sized front line in the NCAAs. I really like the direction things are going....but the four guard lineup really has it's limitations as well.

That is true but there are not many Plumlee types in the CAA-actually none. Cacock will benefit from those minutes that Gettys got and the team will be better off for it. Ogbodo and Cacock are better suited for this style of play .Cacock is like a poor man's Montrezl Harrell in my mind and could be very good as he gets more PT. So long and good luck to all players who desire to be elsewhere and don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Why, The Mullet is actually sounding...well, positive for a change!

It appears we may have a new-look Mullet to go with our new-look Seahawks.

Listen, I agree that Gettys didn't fit the Keatts style of play. But let's hope Coach lands some more of those 6'9"-6'10" players he's targeting to go with the great guards he's landing. Unless your goal is to win the CAA tournament an then be one-and-done in the NCAAs, they may just come in handy.

Alex Riley is reporting that Gettys is a starter in England, putting up good numbers early in the season.

The Mullet does not approve....

He was always talented. Conditioning seemed to be the biggest hurdle in college but look at him now.

It's a highlight video of CJ's season with the Newcastle Eagles of the BBL (British Basketball League).

He looks like he's in great shape and is a force in that league. I don't think the quality of play is very high, as the only other players of note in the BBL that I could find are Amir Williams (Ohio State, 2011-15), Connor Cashaw (Rice/Creighton, 2015-19) and Greg Pryor (UT-Chattanooga, 2013-16).

gotcha, thanks!

Regardless, glad he's enjoying the game still and doing well. Good for him.

RE: C.J. Gettys
CJ was always a crowd favorite and brought intensity and enthusiasm to the court. Didn't reallt fit the Keatts system and ther was a pretty good player waiting in the wings. Interesting to read the beginning of this thread because the DC who became a legend was just getting his game together. Nobody knew what he was going to become.
