I'm not, SC D2 schools typically don't have the nicest facilities.
As for the hire, App fans y'all made a slam dunk hire. If this guy can't turn it around then I doubt there are many people that can. I'll be routing for you guys as long as y'all aren't playing Clemson or CCU.
That isn't Leander's facility, pretty sure it's Boston College's. Smith Stadium / Beaver Field is a good facility, but in reality Kermit is probably stepping down as far as stadiums are concerned.
Right. He was saying that our facilities are better than Boston College's and showed them for reference.

Nope, he thought that was Lander's field.

BC is neither DII or in SC.

RE: App State hires Kermit Smith as new baseball coach
I'm familiar with the Lander program. Very good team this year and Smith has a good local reputation. Lander also has a nice field and baseball complex, only built 3-4 years ago and is very nice. Wouldn't surprise me if it is a lot nicer than App's. This should be a great hire. I like to see winning D2 coaches elevated.

RE: App State hires Kermit Smith as new baseball coach
The funny thing about Dave Perno being a reported finalist is that he was in Boone earlier in the week, but just on a recruiting trip for his HS football players.
Tim Esmay absolutely was a finalist, as was Brett Boretti from Columbia.

RE: App State hires Kermit Smith as new baseball coach
More good news for App as former coach Billy Jones was hired as an assistant at Tulane. Jones is still under contract for the next 24 months so he'll be getting an App paycheck til then, but now that paycheck will be lighter with Tulane footing a good bit of the difference.
