Wild Azz game-by-game predictions for 2016
Here are my unsolicited wild-azz-guess predictions for 2016:

Sept. 3 at Northwestern - Loss. Broncos are competitive, but too inexperienced on D to stop the Wildcat spread.

Sept. 10 North Carolina Central - Win. Broncos light-up Waldo.

Sept. 17 at Illinois - Win. Close game for three quarters, but Broncos pull away in the 4th for a 10-14 point victory.

Sept. 24 Georgia Southern - Win. Close game that could go either way. Bronco kick-returners are the difference. The NU experience helps the D slow down GSU.

Oct. 1 at Central Michigan - Win. Chippewas play hard and lead at the half, but don't have the speed, depth, or running game to hang with WMU. Broncos pick-off at least two Rush passes and win by 17-21 points.

Oct. 8 Northern Illinois - Win. Close game determined late in 4th quarter. Huskies can't cover Davis, and that is the difference in this 3 point win.

Oct. 15 at Akron - Win. Long road trip and WMU takes Akron lightly. Tough game, but WMU rallies in the 4th for a 7 point win.

Oct. 22 Eastern Michigan - Win. Broncos control the Hurons start to finish (calling them Eagles is an insult to the Huron tribe with SUPPORTS use of the Huron name, but nobody at EMU thought to consult them when the name was changed - azz holes) for a solid victory margin of 21 points of more.

Nov. 1 at Ball State - Loss. Cardinals show fight. WMU flat and can't hold onto the ball. Low scoring game that Ball State wins off turnovers.

Nov. 8 at Kent State - Win. WMU wakes-up from BSU upset. Like the EMU game, Broncos control and blow-out the Hot-Flashes by 21 points or more.

Nov. 19 Buffalo - Win. WMU still pizzed about BSU loss. Humbles Buffalo at home by 21+

Nov. 25 Toledo - Win. This is PJ's make or break game and will determine a birth to the MAC Championship Game. Broncos win a high scoring shoot-out with one touchdown coming from kick-return team.

Predicted record: 10-2, 8-1 MAC, Division Champs

No particularly reasoning for my predictions, just hunches and fun guesses based on watching WMU and Mid-American Conference football since the 1970's.

Should be a fun season. Let's hope there are no serious injuries to any of our players, or our opponents.

04-cheers

Can't be 8-1 in MAC, only play eight games (four OOC).

A loss to Ball State, eh? They're the last team I would see beating WMU. Especially after we humiliated them last year in Waldo. WMU won by 47 points and were +559 in yards.

Lembo was a decent coach, but for some reason (whether by design or not) he didn't recruit size in the trenches. Browse through their roster and you'll see that they are smaller than average on both sides of the line. That really came to light last year as we dominated the line of scrimmage.

That, and the Cards have an all-Neu coaching staff.....sorry, I couldn't resist.

Good catch.

I have a hunch WMU will probably lose one conference game on the road to a team it should beat. Trap-game, if you will. Ball State is just a guess. Could switch-out for one of the other road games, besides Central Michigan.

The stats and background you present are appreciated.

I think if Akron can reload this year, they are far more dangerous. They lost a ton to graduation, but they are getting quality transfers. They'll have at least 5 transfers from P5 schools on their defense, 2 on their offense.

Bowden is turning that program around. But who knows how well they will do this year...They graduated the entire O-line and almost the entire front 7 on defense.
