Serious question, maybe my memory is bad. I could have sworn a few of your posters already said this summer that your OL was your only real question mark coming into the season because of injuries and new starters.
(It may have been some stAte fans that said that though)

App has five areas to watch for in 2016 (in order):
- Who starts at Center
- Avoid injuries at OL (unless true freshman play we have 9 guys in rotation)
- Who steps up at WR
- Who steps up at DE
- Can Rubino (K) replace Matics

Man Idk about everyone else but we had a damn good kicker, Will Johnson, since I started paying attention to Bobcat football. Then he graduated and now I might as well be on the team. Our kickers shank 30> yard kicks and XPs..... never would have thought it would be so hard to find a suitable replacement at K but then again we basically had an NFL caliber kicker so we were kind of spoiled.

I took the kicking game for granted until we missed a PAT in overtime to lose Jerry Moore's last game as head coach in our last at-bat in the FCS playoffs.
I started taking it for granted again until we missed several chip shots and lost to Southern Miss after statistically dominating.
Never again. Every field goal and PAT is a blessing.

the starting 5 OL should be the best in the SBC this year, one of our guards is listed as one of the best in the country, but a lot of question marks about the second team. If atleast a couple of guys don't step up, could be big trouble, you cant ask or expect your starters to play the entire season without some injuries that might sideline them for a while, and you cant expect them to play almost every snap of the season. Got a feeling once camp starts finding quality depth at the OL position will be priority number one for the staff.

They have the same OL Problems that we do: Starters are great, probably Top 2 in the league. Depth behind the starters is thin, with both relying on inexperienced players to step in. You can't rely on you 5 starters to play every snap, so it might actually be better to have more depth than quality on the OL.

Having seen first hand the importance of special teams during the Sparky Woods era, I've never taken them for granted. During JMoore's first several years we lost playoff games due to missed FG's. The boiling point for me came in 1999 when Auburn scored with 30 seconds left to beat us by 7 in a game we left 20 points on the field. In addition to a RB fumbling diving to
the endzone and a wide open freshman RB dropping a 10 yard pass on the goal line, we missed 2 chip shot FG's & w PAT's The missed PAT's forced us to go for two, didn't make it, later in the game. JM relied on walk on kickers. Satterfield won't.

Welcome to the club... GS might have at least one more national title if not for poor place kicking.

3 missed FG's against App in 2012
Missed FG to lose against Citadel in 2012
Missed XP's almost giving me a heart attack against UF in 2013.
Yea.....kicking isn't important. Who worries about that?

App fans have been worrying about the O-Line since Jerry Moore couldn't lure Goliath away from the Phillistines.

I think Rubino will do a good job.
Matics was good but his senior year, but his sample size really wasn't all that large. He only attempted 17 field goals his senior year. His junior year, he went 1 for 5.

It all started when Villanova came to town in the playoffs rubbed our nose in crap then left just like that. Their o line was enormous , that's when I knew we had been under recruiting in that area. I love to know that things have changed.

To be fair, Zac was hurt the 4th game of the season in 2014.

If i'm not mistaken, every playoff game App lost after 2007 was to the eventual representative in the National Title game, sans one or two teams.
The Illinois State game is what did it for me. I've never been as shocked about anything in my life as I was at the way that game ended.

Actually it was only 1 team went on to be National Champion. That was Richmond in 2008.

Not to be the National Champion but went all the way. Richmond in 2008, Montana in 2009, Villanova, and I think there was one other but i'm not sure.
