He's been lurking for years DH, waiting for a sports topic that caught his fancy. Then he, and several other former BI posters came out of the shadows, nearly at the same time. It's all just coincidence. 03-drunk

There used to be over 100 golfers in the past for many years. I wonder why the steady decline.

You know I pretty much stay out of these arguments and avoid these threads because I enjoy watching the success the TEAM is having on the field and in the classroom. I could careless about a coaches personal life. But, here is where I believe you are wrong, Not once have I ever heard him say or be quoted in the written media that he is the reason the Broncos win and the athletes are the reason the Broncos lose.

I have always heard or seen him quoted saying he didn't have them prepared, or something to that extent when they lost. When they have won he has always given the athletes the credit.

The problem you all have is you all think his Twitter account actually belongs to WMU, it doesn't. In this aspect I'm so glad I don't have a Twitter account and never will. What ever he posts on his twitter account is personal to him. If he wants to post a video of him and his coaches walking on hot coals, pictures of him and his wife getting married, pictures of his children, videos of him being able to ride in an F-16, good for him for sharing with his friends and family who follow him on Twitter.

As I have said before, as long as the athletes have his back, continue to improve (not necessarily indicated by the scoreboard) and the players continue to give him everything they have, then I will support him as the head coach. The problem for those of you who don't like him is he doesn't fit the mold as an average wmu head coach, even though he is an average WMU coach and this hatred is escalated with social media and you all thinking his Twitter account somehow belongs to WMU.

I am quite certain that the team could go undefeated 5 years in a row, win 3 national championships to go with 5 MAC championships and Fleck could turn down lucrative offers from some of the popular p5 schools and you all would still hate him.

Have a great day Broncos!

You lost credibility when you said "he's an average WMU coach". Nothing about Fleck is average nor has been from day one. Many WMU coaches past and present have won championships and have been successful. I don't have a problem with successful, I do however have a problem with constantly hearing that he treats people, staff, former players and anyone who can't do something for him poorly.

RE: Two golf outings
Don't remember if I got an invite to the annual WMU Football Alumni Golf Outing this past Spring or not. I had ever since Molde and staff started it 20+ years ago.

Never had the coach's name on it.

Sounds like Fleck has replaced it with the "PJ Fleck Row the Boat Alumni Outing" that was held in June and had much lower participation than in the past.

When I say "average WMU head coach" I'm talking in terms of wins and losses. The average WMU coach in his first three seasons have always been somewhere around the .500 mark.

RE: Two golf outings
Going back to Doo, Fleck has a worse record after three years than every coach (even Harbaugh!) except Uzelac, the only other one who was under .500.

To be fair Fleck should significantly improve his record this coming Fall.

He will improve his record this season, it's an easier than normal schedule. NIU and Toledo at home. Get ready to hear about all the "nevers"

So many WMU fans don't deserve a winner. I would love to hear some more nevers.
This team is going to provide, too.

I've been here through a lot of WMU wins past and present. Was here long before this coach and will be here long after. As soon as he's gone, the RTB stuff will all be gone and WMU football will still be standing! It's not that I don't want him to succeed and have a winning program it's that I get sick and tired of hearing him constantly gloating about everything he has accomplished and what he's done for the program, etc. humble goes a long way! It's annoying and I don't stand alone in those sentiments. Just be quiet and coach the team. When you win, you will earn the respect and fame you desire! You don't have to keep boasting about everything you've done every opportunity you get. It definitely comes across as arrogant and self absorbed hence the me, me, me coach that several of these posters refer to.

Valid stuff. Part of it works though...the part that creates noise that is louder than all of the rest for recruits.

Also true. But they do tend to do better than decent folks.
