I know some of y'all got really good contracts. I am surprised how little Colorado is paying. Good thing they are beatable.

This is how all the rabble rousing of playing only FBS games is paying off for the G5. FCS game for those teams trying to make the playoffs are quickly becoming a scarlett letter. The Big10 has already shut FCS game down making the demand for G5 teams even greater. The SEC will likely never stop playing FCS but we only need one or two more P5's to follow the Big10 and we should seeing closer to 2M+. I remember payouts as low as 250K I believe playing uga back in the day for GS.

GS is getting:
$1.1 mil for Clemson in 2018 but I honestly haven't seen any figures for Ole Miss, Georgia Tech or LSU. LSU is probably a lot lower because it was signed when we were still FCS.

Get your beat writer on an FOIA request. That's how our beat writer got the info.

We get money from all tickets sold through the athletic department for that game in addition to the payout. For a game like that, with proximity to Atlanta we should quite a few.

In regards to LSU, I think the reason it kept getting pushed back was because TK was trying to renegotiate the guarantee upwards after the move to FBS. Not sure if I ever heard the end result of that, but I would think it's been pushed at very least closer to the $1 Million mark.

I thought it was due to LSU getting another P5 on the schedule or one of those kick off games. Either way I think they had to pay us for moving the game. The contract is so old I doubt the payout is good. Last remaining remnants of the FCS holding us back.

I believe it was pushed up to 800k or so for us allowing to move it.
Same with UGA last year.

Some interesting numbers and I agree that the lack of FCS games is going to drive up a premium for the FBS 1 and done games.
We haven't signed a 1 and done at Marshall in years now. It is either 1-1 or the P5 schools can go kick rocks.
I wish all of the G5 would ban together on this and force the P5s into more 1-1s or at least 2-1s.
We had a sell out last year for Purdue and no doubt the Louisville game this year will sell out. We also have NC State and Pitt coming to Huntington in the next few years. We also have some solid G5 home and homes scheduled. Cincy, Boise State, Navy, ECU and I'm sure I am forgetting a few more.
To me, there is nothing like a 1-1 as it pretty much guarantees around 40,000 in attendance.

Ohio is only getting 500k from Purdue for a payday.
But Purdue is playing @Ohio in basketball as part of the deal.

Unfortunately our stadium is too small for us to drop money games in exchange for 1 and 1, and 2 for 1 are a money loser. Until we sell 10k season tickets and expand the stadium another 5k seats, it will be impossible to give up a big money game. Not that we have a choice with only MAC schools willing to play us.

RE: How much are you getting for P5 money games?
We definitely understand those growing pains. When we first moved up our stadium only held 30,000 and we also played money games each season.
Now our stadium seats over 38,000 and has room for over 41,000.
The expansion has allowed us to go the 1-1 route and make our own money off of the home game. The biggest thing with hosting P5s is the opportunity to get an additional 10,000 fans out to the game. These are the casual fans who might not have came to a game for years. Great opportunity to re-connect with them and hope they have a good enough time to come back for another game.
It also allows us to sell mini packs, and of course bundling the P5 home game with lesser quality home games. A lot of people will purchase these just to make sure they get tickets for the P5 game they want to go to.

Again, lack of seating is never a reason a P5 won't come to a G5.
