My guess the primary motivation is not to pay large guarantees. Secondary may be to demonstrate ability to win on the road.

Marshall signs its first 1 and done game in years. First one by our current AD.

We are getting $1.4 million to play at South Carolina in 2018. Might be based on the year for us as well. We already had NC State coming in the week after this. We have 7 home games this year, and will most likely have 7 home games in 2019 as well. So we kind of had an opportunity with a free open date in a sense.

It could be us this year when Miami comes to town. Just under 25k actual seats with the possibility of temp seating and the grass SRO bank. I'm expecting a total of 33k.

FIU at 23K, without standing room, has hosted a bunch of P5's recently. Looks like they just beat you guys out.

ODU @ 20k might be the winner for now.

My guess is that Idaho officially has the record, but I'm not digging back through their archives to prove it.

Idaho hosted Washington St in 1966. Their stadium before the Kibbie Dome held around 16k.

First one since 2008 and only one scheduled through 2022 (so far.)

We still have 6 home games that year, so no biggie.

Isn't it pretty normal to have 6 home games?

Haha

I can't remember the last time we didn't have 6 home games.

Probably 06 when we last played in Little Rock.

No idea. I have seen a few teams complaining of only having 5. I've never looked into it for other teams. I just know we always have 6 and then sometimes have 7 home games such as this season.

Well if you notice all of ODU's are not coming from Cali but right down the road. I think with another expansion we could get GT, Duke, NC state or any non elite SEC that does not have to drop 100K+ to get an airplane.

Then why mention it?

Nope, it was actually 2010. The 5 home game era ended with the Steve Roberts era. ULM had 5 home games last year with 8 road games including Hawaii. That must have made for a long season.

ULM has hosted Minnesota, Baylor, and Wake Forest but we have a 31,000-seat stadium. Baylor game in '12 was our record crowd. At one point we were going to host Kansas but they bought out the contract. Right now there's no plans to host another P5 in the near future.

Can't believe I looked this up: Idaho hosted Oregon State in 1984. That's the last P5 school I could find.

Anyone know what the highest payout has been? I think 2M+ are coming sooner rather than later. We just need a one loss SEC team to get snubbed due to playing an FCS team vs a Big 10 that did not then let the cash roll in.
