Massaro has been pushing this for awhile. Would be an additional game between the two programs that would not be part of the conference standings...

I think this is a great idea. Perhaps add a couple more teams in there, too, like Belmont and Vanderbilt.

Meh. This doesn't excite me too much. I love games at Bridgestone, but I don't like the idea of playing a conference opponent in non-conference. I'd much rather see a double header like the old Sun Belt Classic with both MT and WKU playing non-conference opponents. Those were great events.

I think any combo of MT-WKU at Bridgestone would be great, either head to head or us playing against Vandy and Belmont or something.

I'm not thrilled about a non-conference MT-WKU matchup at Bridgestone but I'm sure there would be many that would love the chance to play at Bridgestone again. It makes for a great weekend jaunt for fans......Nashville nightlife and all....

I definitely prefer the Sun Belt Classic format with two decent teams playing WKU and MT.

Yeah, it definitely wouldn't be my top pick of a match up but if it happens, it would be a lot of fun. I would certainly rather an SB Classic type deal, but hey -- Bridgestone games are awesome regardless.

I wouldn't want a Bridgestone game for mtsu. Doesn't have any appeal to me. Would rather watch in our own places. Wouldn't mind doing the sun belt classic again but hey I'll take winning three in a year. Haha

Maybe the Classic again. Those were nice, except the Vandy crowd (they were pitiful). Don't really see the need in playing Middle, though.

I think the "rub" is that none of the $$$$ teams want to come in and play either of us.

That's why we'd have to play one another.

We need to reinstitute the old "Sun Belt Series" as the "Raiders/Toppers Invitational" every year at Bridgestone. Let one of us play UT while the other plays Ole Miss or Auburn (Vandy has proven they can't travel down West End to Lower Broad). We can reverse out the SEC opponent every year. Think we'd sell out the Arena every year.

In theory, I understand why both schools are considering this: Difficulty scheduling a high RPI opponent, especially home and home. The down side is a potential 4 Western-Middle games if both were to meet in the CUSA tourney. Too much familiarity. I'd rather do the old Sun Belt Tourney with TN, KY, Vandy, Lou, Memphis as potential opponents. If ESPN would televise in prime time - doubtful but maybe...

Don't like it. Would be a crappy turnout by the fans on both sides

I think it is a good idea to "try". What have we got to complain about--game against a big rival and on a neutral court. Also you will get to see a women-men doubleheader(something impossible under conf. scheduling).AD's will have a lot of control over the day, date and time.

If it does not work{for whatever reason} don't repeat.AD's are just trying to be creative.I'll be glad to go!!

I agree, have both mens and womens teams play. If it flops don't do it again.

A third game prevents a regular season split and I'd take a 3rd game against Western over many of the teams we sxhedule OOC.

Don't love the move, not going to turn my nose up at it either. Doubtful I'll make the trip, but certainly would if I lived in the Boro or Nashville.

Agreed. And an excuse to head to downtown Nashville, something I don't get to do very often (with 3 little ones).

If it does well, we can generate some good will with the Sport Council and maybe elicit their help in getting $$$$ teams to come in and play MT and/or Western in a neutral setting (in the future).

Or better yet, get the C-USA Tourney there.

If a doubleheader with the power teams could be done, it would have already been scheduled.

I could agree with this statement. Although I would prefer for us to be playing non-conference opponents like we used to. Even if it was Murray and Belmont as the opponents.
