RE: Derrick Rose Traded
This will be a long slow ride into oblivion for D. Rose. He already has 'tired legs' and with all the wear and tear on his body, combined with a Knicks team that is really dysfunctional, I cannot see how this is a good thing for D. Rose other than to get out of Chicago, when it is obvious that the Bulls are now 'Jimmy Butler's team' rather than Derrick Rose's team.
Derrick will still get over $20m/year, so it's still good to be Derrick Rose!

DRose is just not Lebron, even when he was completely healthy. I recall Lebron basically putting the clamps on DRose in the playoffs, crunch time, Rose < Lebron. Not to say Rose is not a great player, or was not a great player, but they were never going to challenge Lebron.
I hope he has some tread left on the tires, when he's healthy, he's awesome to watch, fearless driving into the lane, incredibly athletic.
I'll actually be rooting for the Knicks, despite the fact that I think Melo is a wannabe superstar.
I'm not arguing that Rose was on LeBron's level but Rose was in his second or third year at that point so it's fair to think he would have gotten better. The Bulls looked like they were going to be in the mix for years.

Sadly enough it seems D-Rose is on the Penny NBA career path. But they might lose the legacy and HOF spot, but they can wipe their tears in the tens of millions of dollars earned.

Really unfortunate. Both of those guys were blast to watch at their best. But like you pointed out, falling on hard times and being cushioned by millions of dollars, it could be worse for them...

As long as Rose is as prudent with his finances as it appears Penny has been he should never have any financial worries.

Exactly...
It is rarely a hard fall when you are falling on 100 Million dollars...And honesty I don't think Derrick loves the game. He made that clear with many of his statements. Derrick sees basketball as a means to get rich and he has succeeded greatly in that area.

It's an expiring contract, so we'll see how bad he wants to be paid next summer.
