I would like to see what everyone else has going on with their 2017 recruiting classes. What commits does your team have? Any rumbles of a future commitment? Post them here so we can all keep up.

Coastal only has one commit at the moment but more are expected in the coming weeks.

Recruiting is so volatile till November I don't really pay much attention till then

TXST has a ton of offers out with 8 commits so far.

Just too many offers to type out. We always offer guys who have P5 offers. Can't hurt. We also seem to offer some guys first that aren't on the P5 radars yet. We lose plenty and may get lucky and keep one or two of them.

Ol Willie Fritz is aready coming into TX and offering behind us.

Apparently we will not be participating in the 2017 recruiting class. Since our talent level is "head and shoulders" above everyone else, we will lay off a year and let you guys catch up. Then we will only be a "head" above everyone else.


On a serious note, we have two commits. One is an in-state lineman, younger brother of current OL Austin Moreton. The other is a MS Juco LB that plans on transferring in in December. The in-state talent will be down this year. We have several other in-state offers out, but nothing is imminent on the horizon.

Wake me up about two months before signing day....

It's been pretty slow for us. We've actually picked up two 2016 players in the last month or two. A JUCO DB/S and true freshman punter.

I haven't followed recruiting too much until we moved to the FBS, but is it common to have a recruit become another recruiter for your team. Seems the last couple years we've had recruits hyping the school up to other recruits.

It's typical especially in the internet and mobile era.

Every kid is on social media sites and buried in their phone.

A strong recruit (especially QB) can rally skill position players to play with him.

A-State has been blue shirting a ton of guys who will count in 2017 but will play this year so our class will be fairly small in 2017.

Unless you are a top 25 type G5, you don't have any good commits until most of the P5 are close to 20+/- recruits.

Apps done okay so far, 4 three star, and 1 two star. Its especially encouraging that 2 of recruits are for positions we're thin, OL and DL. Still way to early to get excited, but as of this moment everything is good.

We seem to be a favorite for Harper and saw some tweeter post implying he might commit tomorrow. Nothing confirmed but I'll be surprised if he doesn't go ahead and pull the trigger.
