In his article he writes:

"What compelled me to put them on this list was a recent experience of rewatching the Pizza Bowl between WMU and Purdue and seeing those classic-style jerseys with the double shoulder stripe and the gold helmet. Why stray from that?"

Maybe WMU strayed from it because black and gold are NOT Western Michigan's colors; BROWN and gold are.

This is a proverbial pot-meet-kettle, because CMU's uniforms have gone from sharp to hideous since the school changed colors from maroon and legitimate gold to to red and yellow. ESPN announcers even mocked CMU's all yellow uniforms against Navy!

They messed-up a good thing in Mount Pleasant. Then again, this is the same program that hired Dan Enos and forced-out all the assistants that helped win three championships in four years in Mount Pee. So much for tradition at CMU.

They had WMU in a death-grip (5 consecutive wins), let-us-up, and we've made them pay for it ever since (4 of the last 5).

WMU - Better school - Better program - Better uniforms (that respect tradition) - 41-39!

Actually, as ugly as it is, that throw-back uniform is considerably better looking than the red and yellow crap they wear now.

If CMU is really going to use those unis - they are horrendous.

Not because they are CMU's, just because they are horrendous.

Michigan tried something similar when Hoke was coach. And they were horrendous too.

It is an Adidas thing. Fortunately, they have not forced the issue on WMU.

CMU wore these uniforms for one game several years ago.

As mentioned in a previous post, they are still better-looking than the banana-yellow that CMU replaced legitimate gold with.
