Attendance will suffer this year at tech. We have a terrible home schedule. However, hopefully the weather will be kinder to us this year and that would give Tech a boost. Last year we had terrible start times coupled with rainy, miserable weather for most home games.

It may go down, or if the weather and start times line up well, we may be more balanced in attendance. 1 less game, wont have one on Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Opener will be pretty full. If the conference games line up at good times and with great weather i dont see us hurting. But WKU may be eh, being on a Thursday.

Is it just me, or did everyone have awful weather at the beginning of the season? I think three out of the first five games for ODU were in downpours... definitely puts a damper (no pun intended) on some good football games

Ours were the last three. The first three home games were pretty perfect.

If they can do that I believe they have a shot at the access bowl. The problem they will have will be the same one Marshall was hearing in 2014 because their "quality" wins could only be considered UK, La Tech and Marshall. They would need those three to have good seasons.
Marshall has a good schedule to make an access run with two good, but not great P5 games with the harder of the two at home. We will also have Middle, WKU and USM which should give us a respectable SOS. With only one loss we could be in the conversation, even 2 losses if we beat Louisville and lose close to Pitt on the road and close to USM, and they both have really strong seasons.
I think WKU is in the same boat as USM, they would have to go 11-1 and make Alabama nervous to have a shot.
I feel Middle would have to go undefeated since they don't have a preseason top 25 type team on the schedule.
La Tech could lose the opener against Arkansas, run the table and make the access spot.
Bottom line is that Houston has the inside track, if they only lose one game they are going unless one of us runs the table and, for Middle, I'm not sure they would get in over a one loss Houston, they just have too much hype coming into the season.
I don't think a two loss USM gets the access bowl. 1 loss to LSU is possibly OK- a second loss to UK or to a CUSA team may be the nail in the coffin unfortunately. Not trolling or flaming- all Memphis fans love UAB and USM due to our history and if someone outside of the AAC has to make the access bid, that's who I want in it, but I just can't see a scenario where a 2 loss USM gets the bid.

You are right. Probably need to go 11-1. Can't get blown out by LSU.

RE: CUSA Football 2016
I don't see this as a particularly strong year for the conference. I still think we are a year away, although do believe we will easily get our bowl commitments covered.
1. How strong are we going to be as a conference? (OOC wins): Hate to be pessimistic, but out of 52 OOC games, I see us winning only 23, or 44%.
2. Will the East continue their championship winning streak? If the new coaching staff doesn't muck up the works, I think the title goes to Southern Miss this year, so NO...back to the West to even things up 2-2.
3. Will we have another Top 25 team and who? I don't think so. For the candidates, I see 2 losses for USM, 2 for WKU and 3 for Marshall and MTSU.[/b]
4. Will most see increased attendance with better start times all across the board? I'm optimistic on this score, so I'll say YES
