We started ******* Wondo. Wondo. We deserve to lose.

I don't mean to say I told you so, but I told you so.

The US didn't even register a single shot attempt. We are still very much stuck in the 2nd or 3rd tier of global soccer. Completely outclassed.

Klinsmann is an idiot. Starting all 3 of Wondo, Beckerman, and Zusi. Then just conceding majority of possession to Argentina as well. Just a recipe for disaster. It is time for a new head coach. He has been on thin ice for a while. I think this team made the semi's in spite of Klinsmann not because of him.

Fully willing to admit I was wrong. I'm giving up on the team as long as Klinsmann is the coach. His line up decisions just defy logic.

I dont understand giving up on the team because we got beat by the best team in the world. It wouldn't have mattered who we started, we weren't going to win. Yes I wasn't happy with the way we played but we made it to the semifinals of a major tournament. We trounced Costa Rica and we played great against Ecuador, both teams ranked higher in the world rankings than we are. I've been critical of Klinsman in the past but I felt like he and this team redeemed itself a bit in this tournament. We still have a chance to beat Chile or Columbia and finish 3rd...that's better than Brazil, Uruguay, and Mexico. I'm happy with where we're at.

I agree we were never going to win but I was disappointed in the way the US played. We played scared. We should be beyond that by now. Maybe we'll get there someday, but it's going to take a good long while.

RE: OT: Soccer (Copa America/Euro)
Why does everyone want to blame the Head Coach of USA soccer? We remain behind in soccer to the top teams in the world and have for a long time no matter who the coach is....Kids in the United States do no grow up or develop the soccer skills kids in Argentina or other top world soccer powerhouse countries....Zero coaches can overcome that here in America, doesn't matter who we would have played still would have lost 2 or 3 to zip....I don't think any coach USA hand selects can overcome that....Instead of blaming one Head Coach, blame football, basketball and even baseball the top athletes are playing in this country instead of developing or having coaches who can teach these soccer skills to our young people...

The problem is not that we got beat, it's that Klinsmann didn't give us the best chance to win. Starting Wondo (and Beckerman, but at least I expected that) is unbelievable and totally gutless.

Costa Rica and Ecuador? Beating those teams has always been the norm - that is nothing new with Klinsmann.

If we're going to pay him however many millions of dollars, we need to perform at a higher level. We could pay any coach 1/10 of what we are paying Klinsmann and get the same results.

I'm really just giving up on Klinnsman himself, honestly. I'll continue to support the team. You're absolutely right that our talent pool is not at the level that we can expect to go toe to toe with Argentina, but he did not put us in position to succeed. His tactics are basically "pass better, try harder." Losing to Argentina isn't near as painful to me as coming in 4th at the Gold Cup and losing the Confederations Cup playoff game. It would have been different if he brought a U-23 team to the Gold Cup, to prepare them for Olympic Qualifying, and still lost, but he didn't. He's one of the top five highest paid head coaches in the world, and we're no closer to competing with the top 10 teams in the world than we were when he started.
