No doubt about that. He was a great evaluator of talent and great at motivating kids to play at a high level.

Would it be fair to say coach Norvell likes tight ends?

I remember one of the assistant coaches remarking at the signing day party that "if you think we did well with 6 weeks to work, wait until you see what we can do in 12 months". Apparently those were not empty words.

They're showing it to be true thus far! Once we're in the B12, which I really believe is coming soon, it is going to be really interesting to see the impact on recruiting. It'll obviously have a favorable impact, but how much and how soon.

With the current roster talent, coaching staff, and the way this recruiting class is shaping up, it looks like we're setting up for a nice, long run of successful football. Really seems that we're riding the momentum from the last two years to keep building the program to even higher levels. Clearly different than the post-Deangelo years.

Order your season tickets now, folks!

Does Norvell remind anyone of early Pastner? I read a quote from him about knowing he wanted to be a coach since he was a kid. Heard that before.

Youngest coach (or close to the youngest) in D1. A real up and comer. Heard that before.

Stripe em up. Nice enough saying and all but Pastner was full of little saying that we ate up early on.

Now this dude comes in and is killing it in the recruiting trail early on. Sounds familiar.

Like I said, I realize it is probably my BFS kicking in but the similarities have made me nervous for a while.

If you went to the spring game, the fumble inside their own 20 on the first offensive play and the multiple penalties in the first quarter would not have helped your nervousness.

JFC.

The fumble is literally the most random thing about the sport and Norvell recruits really well and we're going to lose our minds and already compare him to Pastner?

Grab a valium and sit your ass down.

We get it. You don't have to prove the existence of a Rocky Mountain High.

the difference is that Norvell knows how to coach, Josh bragged about being a bad coach (he stopped doing it after Joe left and it became apparent that his self evaluation was correct)

Huge difference you're missing.

Norvell was a very successful OC for a P5 school. He was one of the highest paid Assistants in the country. Auburn wanted to turn their offense over to him.

Pastner was a reknowned recruiter, but was always a #2 or #3 Assistant - at AZ and here.
