I'm just making a quick guess here, but louisville must have lost their super regional in baseball. Which would be a huge upset if true.

They got their hearts ripped out 4-3 on a walk off salami. Not sure why the road team was batting in the bottom of the 9th, but some Freshman for UCSB won the game.

They alternate home team during the series. Loserville was home in game one, and visitor in game two.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch....

They weren't the road team. NCAA baseball has some funny rules related to hosting a round of the tourney.....

Double-elimination doesn't work that way.

Playing at home doesn't assure you of being the 'home' team. They alternate that.

Just saw the replay on ESPN. Laughed almost as hard as watching Brazil get eliminated in a hand goal.

The hand goal was pretty funny. They legitimately should have lost to Ecuador

RE: Some good Schadenfreude in Louisville.
I was surprised to learn that Miss State was eliminated at their own stadium by Arizona. State had a great team (ranked #2) this year plus Arizona had to contend with 13,500 cowbells. Making it to Omaha takes a very good team AND good luck (especially if you aren't a host team).

ECU had their chances to eliminate Texas Tech in the second game but kept squandering opportunities by leaving men on base. Since the AAC won't be in the CWS this year I will pull for the Big 12 teams (at least 3 made it) and whoever is playing the SEC.

So our baseball team had a losing record in a conference that didn't place a team in the World Series? And you still think the coach is doing a good job?
