RE: ***Official*** NCAA 2016 Baseball Tournament Thread
As a UH fan, I've seen the reverse happen at the new Box. A few years ago in our regional there, a ball got stuck in a chain link outfield fence. Our player threw his hands up and waited for the first base umpire to get there. While the ump waddled out to the right field, an LSU fan kicked the ball loose. It was all caught on camera. The ump ruled it wasn't a ground rule because the ball was no longer stuck and LSU was awarded a home run.

Seems as if the visiting team is damned if you do/damned if you don't.

LSU needs to fix their dam stadium. Balls shouldn't be getting stuck in fences (because the padding didn't cover the entire fence) or under ball girl benches. Sure, it could happen once in a blue moon, but this has been two regionals now in which LSU was the recipient of gifted home runs. Once by a team following the ground rules and another by a team not following them because the player had to make a decision to try and play the ball after his protest wasn't immediately acknowledged.
