This has long been an argument about the college baseball and its regional appeal at the Tech board. Unlike Football and Basketball, not everybody cares about Hockey, LaCrosse or Baseball.
But it will grow on your fanbase at an alarming rate if you keep on your current pace.

LOL Kentucky being called the Deep South. That's a good one.

You and I think a lot a like, however....College Baseball is persona non grata north of Tenn. But when you start talking to a Big Ten or Big East fan about the Frozen Four, their shorts get tingly. I watch three to five Rangers or Astros(Got to be really bored) games a week, but couldn't tell you who won last years Stanley Cup!

The Chicago Blackhawks. Looking like so far its gonna be the Pittsburgh Penguins this year.

We are already seeing huge dividends right now. Our coach is in the local paper everyday and the chatter around North East LA is mind boggling. We just picked up the best HS Catcher in the state who was at the time committed to LSU and they are pissed.

I'm glad they did as it allows me to travel down to Baton Rouge tomorrow afternoon. My guess is that Utah Valley has not only never before been in the post-season or played in a venue anything like Alex Box and their 10,000+ crowds, but also because they're not used to the mid-day 90+ degree, 100% humidity days. Those guys are going to melt out there. Rice and SELA are used to playing in the tropics.

I believe the schools bid for it.

No, it goes to the higher seed first. If both advancing team has the same seed then the school that bid the highest gets the super (unless, for some reason, the NCAA feels their facility is inadequate).

That's what our fans have been assuming as well...although it's at least in part due to Duplantier's use against you all. Duplantier is definitely capable of shutting down any team in the country, but we've got to be able to beat LSU twice (most likely) to win the regional, so we'll have to have our third starter/bullpen be great as well.

Duplantier was worse on us Sunday than on the Friday start last month. We were thinking oh boy hes tired! Dang he made us look silly. We chased more breaking balls outside the zone than clinton chased skirts in the oval office.

Fox is getting the start for a multitude of reasons, but primarily because...

1. He's fully rested having lasted pitched on Thursday, whereas, Big Jon pitched 5 innings on Sunday afternoon.

2. SELA features a left-handed laden lineup and are super aggressive on the basepaths (109 stolen bases on the year). Blake is not only a Senior left-hander, but he's our best pitcher, by far, at holding runners close to the bag.

Blake has had but one bad outing the past 2 months (vs. LaTech two weeks ago), and he came up big in the regional opener last year vs. ULaLa only to see the bullpen blow a 3-run lead in the 9th inning.

If Blake comes up big, we'll see Dup vs. Alex Lange of LSU in the nightcap on Saturday, which could be ESPN's showcase game. I'll be in Baton Rouge, and would love to see that pitching duel live for a chance to advance into the winners bracket.03-cloud9

If I lived less than an hour from BR and knew I could get a ticket to the game I'd pay to see that possible Saturday night pitching matchup

C'mon, man. How many innings did he pitch while Clinton had 8 years? My money is on Clinton on this one!

That's been the case since BBCOR. Before that, Fullerton's 90's and 00's teams were full of monsters that could crush the ball.

I'll never forget seeing the last game of our series with them in Hattiesburg in 09. Physically, it looked like a high school team against the Yankees. And the results pretty much bore that out.

They had that kid (looked like a grown man) that hit it over the light pole in left center in the Friday game. I remember the USM LF at the time didn't even move when it was hit, he just turned and watched it.

USM gets a 2 out RBI double to take a 1-0 lead after 1

make that 1-0 going to B2 now. McCarty has pitched 6 up/6 down so far

It was 2009. Look at the schedule.

Both teams went 0-2 in Omaha that year.
