Completely guessing but I think it comes down to a bidding war combined with NCAA baseball committee vote and I say that as back in 2007 I remember Mississippi State and Clemson had that dilemma and it was said it came down to the baseball selection committee made final decision.

same reason we choose 4pm last wed. If you lose you turn around and play early plus delays push the game late.

You're on to it. You can bid to host a regional and not put in a bid to host a super regional (see Missouri State in 2015). If you do not submit a bid to host a regional, you cannot host a super regional as both are turned in at the same time. So it really comes down to whether your school has submitted a bid in the first place.

Wow..

I just realized that Georgia Tech got in with an RPI of 20 and Wake Forest at 25, Boston College at 39...

North Carolina didn't with an RPI of 18?

Note all four went sub-.500 in their conference

As soon as I saw the bracket opposite USM I started doing that wondering who would USM need to win the Florida regional for USM to have a chance to host a Super Regional should USM win its regional at Florida State. Since 4 seeds rarely if ever advance I like our chances better with UConn winning whereas if Georgia Tech wins I feel it will be a 50/50 toss up...first things first USM has to win its regional.

Just realized it's possible for all 4 teams to reach the CWS and we would have 2 teams in each side of the bracket. The way our teams are seeded it's possible to have them play each other in 1st round in Omaha

1 - USM
3 - FAU
6 - La Tech
8 - Rice

I think USM, Rice, FAU and then La Tech have the best chance of winning their regionals (in that order). Could maybe see a reverse of Rice/FAU.

RE: Regional weekend
Has anyone watched or played CSF this season? I have looked up their stats and find it hard to compare them to anyone we played this season. closest being maybe ULL but this will be a different matchup. They have superb pitching with what I would say is less than average hitting. We have a chance to control their offense with good pitching and defense. We will have to put pressure on them offensively which we have done a good job of lately.

Even possibly all four in the bracket finals to reach the final.

But before I bet on it, I need to see the odds.

That's what our fans have been assuming as well...although it's at least in part due to Duplantier's use against you all. Duplantier is definitely capable of shutting down any team in the country, but we've got to be able to beat LSU twice (most likely) to win the regional, so we'll have to have our third starter/bullpen be great as well.

Duplantier was worse on us Sunday than on the Friday start last month. We were thinking oh boy hes tired! Dang he made us look silly. We chased more breaking balls outside the zone than clinton chased skirts in the oval office.

I am telling ya, stranger things have happened. But the poetic justice of playing each other 8 times in a 4 week period would be insane.
