I'm OK with that regional for ECU.

I like UCONN over Georgia Tech. Florida is a tough draw.

Bryant is no joke. Good region for ECU though.

This is a regional I feel we could make it out of. Then again USF was a team I thought we could take a series from haha

I hate UNC, but how does an RPI of 19 not get in.

UCONN beat both Tulane and ECU's opening opponents (Bryant and Boston College) this year.

2016 Bracket NCAA Baseball

UConn plays Georgia Tech, a mediocre team with a legit ace in Gold. We would smoke them later on in the regional but I don't like leading off with them.

ECU makes it out IMO. Last year we were riding a positive trajectory into the NCAAs after winning the AAC tourny & we didn't even win a game as a #2 seed. This year after missing out on the reg season championship by a 1/2 game & then subsequently falling flat in the AAC tourney it leaves the team with everything to prove still. Godwin seems to always turn it around when backs are against the wall. After 28 trips to the NCAA you have to think that we are due for a breakthrough to Omaha simply based on the law of averages.

Also encouraging is that it's in the Charlottesville regional which is good for 2 reasons:

(1) Short travel

(2) ECU knows how to win @UVA (just as USF had the confidence and familiarity to knock us out of the conference tourney)

Was the west really that weak this season?

When asked why UNC was not punished at all when they deserve the death penalty, the NCAA will simply reference the baseball team being left out and say, see, they were punished.

Tar Heels didn't make it because they couldn't even qualify for the ACC tournament. Not even the play in round. Seems as if the NCAA has at least minimal standards.

We still have a ways to go to get to Omaha but tonight was an important step towards that goal. It would have set up better if TT hadn't come back to beat NM in the 9th though. That said, if ECU has to go to Lubbock, I still like our chances. We are due for a run to the World Series. Time to make it happen
