Holy crap. Someone is competing with App State for the worst video ever.

LaTech, you can thank me later for taking the focus off your terrible video.

I am sure I am uneducated about all the unparalleled successes of your athletic program's history. No come to think of it, I don't even know what city your fine university exists in. I appreciate you coming over to our conference's board to tell us how you don't care about us and two of our other programs. The Sun Belt has a very nice board elsewhere.

You guys are still my favorite addition

Thanks. Look forward to visiting Huntington in October with a group of Niners. I have always wanted to visit your university and have a lot of respect for your history. 04-cheers

Here is how I see it, and not that my opinion matters to any of you....

I have made it known that I didn't like the addition of Charlotte. I think in time you guys could be great, blah blah, been there, not what this is about.

I believe this is your first trip to Marshall for a game? I always pay attention to the amount of visiting fans. I was really disappointed with the amount ODU brought if I remember correctly. Changed my perception of them a bit.

How many fans you honestly think you guys can bring? Any decent amount would earn my respect.

Hard to say. We don't have a strong alumni base in WV so most will be coming from NC. We have a group of about 20 coming but are traveling independently from the university. Our group is traveling to one away game (4 hours or more) per year and this is our one this year. We are really looking forward to it. Have heard nothing but good things from others that have visited.

This is one of the many reasons Marshall fans go out of their way to show respect to visiting fans from any team. Our cheerleaders even go into the visitors section before the game to go around thank the visiting fans for coming.

No visiting fan walks by our tailgate without being invited for food and drinks. You guys are welcome to come this year if ya want.

We understand that the majority of fans can afford to make it to one away game per year. If they came to Huntington, that means they chose to come here over other options. We appreciate that, and are genuinely grateful for the opportunity to host our guests.

I know I come off as a jerk on here sometimes, but we take pride in treating visiting fans with respect.

Agreed, Marshall fans are good people during home games. VTech is the same way. We try to do the similar thing in Greenville. You are all more than welcome to come have a GREAT time tailgating at ECU.

Hard to say. If it was game 1, probably a fair amount. If we are having a decent season probably 500-1000.

We had over 1500 at the georgia state game last year, but that was game 1. If we played that game in November thst number probably would have only been a few hundred.

Who knows though. Atlanta is a good draw for tourists, making the trip more enticing. Huntington not so much. A football game, aquarium trip, and a tour of coke (all of which are around Olympic park) makes for an entertaining family weekend.

If we are competitive and fun to watch this season, I'll go with 500-1000. If it's a repeat of last year, less than 100.

If you brought anything in the hundreds then I would be impressed. 500, and I'm not sure what I'd think. That would be more than impressive to me.

Then you were impressed with the Western fans that drove 4.5 hours on Black Friday when that region had a snow storm the day before? I would guess 350-500 showed up.

As for being made to feel welcome (another post by you) I would say that is correct. Other than one group as we were walking out saying something off the wall. Nice friendly people. Also I paid no attention to the couple people in that group that were buttholes. After a game like that feeling are raw. But the other people with the two buttholes took over with a teaching moment that being rude is never excepted. We shook hands and I thanked them and they thanked us for coming.

BTW that was one helluva drive, thought my wife and I has seen our last morning. We left NY (the Garden) at 8pm Thanksgiving night right as the horn sounded for Western's basketball game. Drove to the foot of the MT (I believe it was La Vale Maryland) because we didn't want to go over it at night with the snow a couple days before. Got a room at 2am slept 3 hours and left for the game at around 5.30am. Got up to around 2500 elevation and the snow started

30 seconds later we were at 2700 and we slowed down to 43mph because it was snowing about 1/2 inch in those 30 seconds and increasing. At that point we just hoped to make it off the mountain alive because stopping really wasn't a option. As hard as it was snowing we might have got stuck up there. Lucky for us after about 30 minutes we got down to around 1900 ft and just flurries

As a Charlotte fan I have to admit that I don't have the whole tailgating and visiting fans thing figured out. I really do hope you (lose but) have a good time. I want to talk to you, and I will be nice and welcoming. Any questions? I will try to help. I have an assigned spot right by the stadium and next to a sidewalk coming from a deck where many visitors park, and I cannot feed all of you. I want to be hospitable, but I would need to bring in a food truck. Until I get a handle on this, just know that even though I do not hand you a beer, I do appreciate you coming for what I hope is a great visit.

It takes time to figure it out. We def learned. Just like camping really. Start with a tent and learn the first time "crap. I really should have brought x" or learned how and what.

LaVale is no joke.. My dads side is originally from Cumberland...if you see a semi in your rear view coming down the mountain and closing in...you'd better GTFO of the way because their brakes are probably shot....Sideling hill is an awesome view also...
