Eh most Houston fans feel the big 12 is a pipe dream. We still like to hope though.
Im thinking houston and memphis should just jump to thr Sunbelt. People more friendly there. Get southern miss to go with us. Hell we got money. Let these poor grubbers beg the big 12
Funny, I was just thinking a minute ago that Memphis should've stayed in C-USA. You guys might look more competitive.

We did. Its called the AAC and we have as many football championships in it as you do.
Three way ties that you have to share with Cincinnati and UCF don't count. It just means you were not good enough to win it outright.

Then he doesn't know as much as you think. UT-Houston will have a very short life span. When the next session of the Texas Legislature meets they will be facing the same higher education budget issues that Louisiana is facing now. Look at your own situation. In Louisiana's current financial environment, what do think would happen if LSU (who gets whatever they want) decided they wanted to spend billion in public tax payer funds to build a new research center/university in Ruston, 5 minutes from LaTech. The sales pitch? "Well, its going to cost over a billion---but it will be really cool---although---right now---we don't know exactly what its going to be--so we cant tell you exactly how cool it will be---just trust us." Even in Louisiana, and even with LSU's name on it, that idiocy would get tossed out on its ear given the budget contraints.
UT-Houston is exactly that stupid. It would replicate an existing Tier One school less than 5 miles away. Worse yet, the University of Houston already has a developing 74 acre research park adjacent to the UH main campus that is designed as an incubator for new ideas, technologies, and collaborations with other schools and industries (sound familiar?). What McRaven wants to build already exists in Houston---His proposition is just a wasteful vanity project that will be shot down in the next session. Worse yet, they know it makes no sense, which is exactly why UT didn't follow procedure and get proper clearance from the Higher Education Planning Board.
Mark my words---Its a dead project.

By who? Some lawyer from UH You are uninformed.
Just like UT will never allow UH to be in a conference with them and just like UT shot down expansion. What UT says goes in the Big 12. That's just reality sorry you are too delusional or young to see that
UT shot down expansion when?
You didn't have to wait long, coffee is still hot and right on cue

Devastating news for AAC teams/BYU RT @davidubben: Texas AD Mike Perrin on expansion: “The prudent thing is to stay where we are.”
"Texas' agreement to expansion is seen as a key to any move by the Big 12. It will take a super majority of eight schools to approve it. Perrin was later asked by CBS Sports, if the vote was 9-1 for expansion with Texas being the only dissenter, whether the school would agree to expansion.
He said it would."
Texas has one (1) vote.
No...UT has their own vote plus what amounts to a minimum of three proxy votes (Tech, TCU and Baylor).

Of course we're the #1 pick. We are America's team. Don't be shocked when you start seeing UH gear being worn all around the country as a fashion statement, much like 'The U' in the 90's. We are the new Boise, except an academic powerhouse and in a real market. Memphis is Tier 4 trash that couldn't even win anything with Lynch/Fuente.
All we do is BALL.

Man you are completely crazy!! But you got the right spirit.
I see you haven't been around here long. You'll learn that with shere, you have to fight fire with fire, i.e. trolling with trolling. I joke about Memphis being the only Tier 4 school in the AAC, their puny endowment, their slum of a town, etc., but on a positive note, Memphis did announce a significant gift this morning.
