CBS Sports Dennis Dodd: Look ahead to this week's Big 12 Meetings & look at Big 16
Here's Dodd's latest heading into this week's Big 12 President Meetings...plus a look at a scenario if the Big 12 (10 teams currently) turns into the Big 16 for Network purposes.

http://www.cbssports.com/college-footbal...e-history/

Also included is his video interview with CBS Sports Host (UCF Alum Ryan Bass)

The American needs to be proactive in expansion. What I mean by this is that ya'll should publically send invitations to Iowa state, Kansas state, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. This may seem silly. But the Big 12's days are numbered and with the AAC head toward bowl and media contract negotiations. This may help.

The WVU and TCU choices create a problem. Do they surround WVU with schools? I think Texas, TT, OU and OSU are out the door. It would be nice if the B12 prepped for this by going to 16.

B12 east
UConn
WVU
ECU
Temple
Cincinnati
Memphis
USF
UCF

B12 west
Kansas
KSU
ISU
TCU
Baylor
Houston
CSU
BYU

CBS's 16 team Big 12 looks great. It is a fine conference.
That projection has been the biggest fear that the Big 12 guts the AAC by taking more than one or two.

CBS Sports Dennis Dodd: Look ahead to this week's Big 12 Meetings & look at Big 16
From Dennis Dodd:

Here's how a Big 16 might look. In the interest of relieving stress, calming nerves, starting more speculation and just having some fun, let's blow out the expansion thing while we still can.

Big 12 North
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State
West Virginia
Central Florida
Cincinnati
Connecticut
BYU

Big 12 South
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
Oklahoma State
Houston
Colorado State

***********
It'll never happen. If they expand at all, 14 is as high as they'll go. And probably only 12.

However, if you move OU, Texas & Kansas out and add Memphis, Temple & USF, this is what the future Big 12 may look like after a raid:

Big 12 East
UCF
USF
West Virginia
Cincinnati
Memphis
Connecticut
Temple
Iowa St

Big 12 West
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
Oklahoma State
Houston
Colorado State
BYU
Kansas St

The B12 is not expanding for at least 5 years.

Don't worry. They won't even agree to 12 let alone 16.

I think they should invite Arkansas That would improve both conferences.

Don't you think...04-cheers

The Big12 reminds me of the Big East won't expand and those that have options will work behind the others back and eventually leave. I'm going to say that when their GOR ends at least one of Oklahoma or Texas will be leaving

I imagine if one leaves, the other won't be far behind (not necessarily to the same conference).

That's probably what you'll see if the B12 expands. BYU has been ready for 20 years to move up and Cincinnati was a big success in the Big East.

Aside from Tulsa & SMU who are too small and duplicative, every AAC school would be a solid add for the B12 or ACC.

You look at these schools ECU, UConn, Memphis, UCF, USF, Houston they are ready facility wise for a power conference. Temple has some work to do on facilities but is on its way. Navy could probably handle the ACC. Tulane is a stretch but don't discount the N.O. TV market.
