Realistically, almost all of the academic crap Marshall gets stems from MU being a regional university and not a national research university. People confuse this with Marshall being horribly ranked. Marshall has a top ranking forensic science program, one of only a few accredited Safety Technology programs, and a very well known College of Education and Professional Development.

Note that the CUSA has three of the top ten programs....

UAB at #6, FIU at #3 and Marshall at #1.

Interesting WKU isn't even in the top 10! We have won more forensics national championships in the last 10 years than any other school in the country.

The activity gets that funny name, Forensics, because it is public speaking, or speaking in the public forum; just as Forensic Medicine is medicine practiced on behalf of the public, for example, the work of a Coroner.zq
