Yes.

But 8 years ago Baylor sucked on the football field only. Now, they suck in national perception and are likely facing some sort of NCAA sanctions. However, more importantly, they are going to lose what will likely be a Title IX case that your grandkids will study in textbooks. Baylor is more likely to be shutdown than to be able to hire anyone that isn't already damaged themselves.

Oh, and unlike Baylor, we've won a New Year's Six bowl game.

04-cheers

It's funny that Baylor fan thinks they've arrived and are now a top tier program, yet UCF and UH have both accomplished more. Baylor peaked, and never even won anything. 03-lol

I wasn't around back when Briles was at UH. But from what I have read he would have stayed at UH had UH shown progress in terms of facilities thus he left to Baylor, add in he wanted to be in the Big 12.

Even if Baylor didn't just have a huge scandal I wouldn't be worried about them stealing Herman. It is a better job but it's not a destination job. He can easily accomplish everything here in Houston that he could at Baylor.

Good coaches normally look for this when a must have gig becomes available.

1. $$$
2. Football Stadium/Facilities
3. Recruiting grounds
4. History
5. Tv Exposure
6. Market (hehe)

Probably not in this ^^^ order but close enough.

except for the fact he would make more money, and coach in the Big XII, if he went to Baylor.

Except if he really cared about those two things he would have taken the SC job. There he would have made $4.5 million a year and coached in the weaker sec east. Compared to that Baylor is a downgrade so thats not even a good argument.

If Herman wouldn't take South Carolina, he wouldn't take Baylor, especially with the mess they are today.

For Tulsa's Coach Montgomery, it's a different story. He was at Baylor for several years & liked it there. However, I don't think Baylor will hire any Briles assistants as head coach at this time. They need to steer away from any association to the Briles staff as the large $$ lawsuits start coming in.

RE: Chad Morris to Baylor?
I know this place has a bunch of trolls but you have to be a special kind of stupid to think Tom Herman would even entertain the idea of going to Baylor. It isn't even about UH it's about having common sense and seeing Baylor doesn't fit his career trajectory at all.

I also don't understand the chad morris love at all. People in Texas questioned how he was going to put together a defense and we're still waiting. People praise his recruiting so far but Houston fans were ready to run Levine outta town once his classes slipped to this "high level" morris is recruiting at. Before this past recruiting cycle I've never seen a barely top 75 class described as anything remotely great but apparently smu pulled it off.

I get that he's starting from a really poor position but people really need to tap the breaks on him and let him prove himself as a head coach and not as an offensive coordinator. I won't be surprised at all if it turns out Tulane hired a better head coach. When morris was hired I heard every reason you could think of as to why smu is an underrated, sleeper job. This board is going to be entertaining if Fritz establishes a better program within the next couple of years.

My thoughts exactly, morris hasn't proven himself to be a good enough coach for the Baylor job.

The bayLOL gig is suicide now... I don't see bayLOL getting out from this mess as they have previously.

The same Big XII that always seems on the brink of collapse? If there is a Big XII job that Herman has his eye on it's Texas. Another mediocre season and Charlie Strong is going to be gone.

With so many "unknowns" at Baylor now...and it might remain that way for next 12-24 months (NCAA investigations) and then further penalties...I don't think many, if any, "qualified" coaches will be applying there anytime soon...hence why some unproven HC's would apply (money grab...as Baylor will have to overpay to get someone there), who might be able to win for 1-3 years with some talented depth on roster...then jump ship to another higher paying job after that.

this is the best news a tulsa fan can get..if they can't even hire a 6month interim from within that means they can't touch any staff around during the accusations

chad morris now remains the sole AAC coach that might get the job
