Pretty much an A&M town.

From that list the answer is obvious - the BigXII needs to add Alabama.

It means that Houston's AAC championship game is 5th place behind 4 regular season games. A bad Texas team got better ratings and so did a mediocre A&M team

I'm sure Bammer / Ole Miss trumps anything we do here. As does Bammer/ UT and Bammer / LSU

And that will be a reason if we don't get an invite

Pretty sad that in your own Texas town Alabama trumps all.

Memphis is a smorgasbord of sports fans. The one common denominator is the MEMPHIS Grizzlies.

Remember early on when the Griz first moved to Memphis fans came to see the other teams and wore the other teams jersey.

You guys shouldn't feed into bigger, better, wealthier mentality that its always been so it always will be.

Given the same resources a newby rising star that is well run can catch up to many but the top programs. Don't measure Memphis or Houston against Texas and Bama. Measure us vs getting in the top 50 regularly. Going to a bowl game regularly. Winning 7-9 games regularly. I don't give two hoots about Houston but they have shown that even after coaching changes they can maintain a quality program. The fan base is catching on. They are investing in facilities.

Memphis is not far behind proving that also.

I've heard people complain because tickets went up $20 bucks. That's the Kroger coupon mentality. Ticket prices will double if/when we get in the B? but its the cost of being a member. You have to have resources from many revenue streams to keep up.

I've heard people complain that they are getting kicked off Tiger lane because they can't afford the donation to have a priority to buy a spot. That's the way BB seats have worked for years. Find a rich friend or get used to being in a different parking neighborhood. That's me understanding there are bigger things in life than making me happy.

I've heard endless talk about an OCS. Nice idea but you can't do it on other peoples money. This ain't buying cheap houses to flip. If you want to play with the big dogs you have be a big dog and be loyal like a big dog when things get tough. and moving up to the B? will make things tough. It takes broad and deep support support all the way to the little guys that scratches by just to be there.

Bama, Tx and ND draw better on Tv than Memphis or Houston. Big hairy deal. Join the club where you are playing them every week (or similar names) and see how things change.

Or we could default to the big dogs and never try.

Houston is not really anybody's city. It's a less extreme version of Atlanta in that they're relatively new, huge metros with significant portions of their population transplanted from elsewhere in the country (or world, for that matter).

One thing to remember is that the only 2 games with UH that made the list had little to no other competition at the time of those games:

Friday, November 27 on ABC at 11 AM (CST) vs #16 Navy

Championship Saturday, Dec 5th on ABC at 11 AM (CST) vs #20 Temple

All the other SEC/Big 12 games were regular season games where sometimes it went up against dozens of other games except the Bama/UF SEC Champ Game.

Top 20 matches on ABC with a local team without very little competition against it turned into good local ratings.

It's an improvement from their former 70 plus year old home, the former 30,000 seat Robertson Stadium.

[Image: Aerial_view_of_Robertson_Stadium%2C_1950.jpg]

For the few that can afford premium seating at their new TDECU Stadium home, its a huge upgrade...outside of the suites, loge boxes and 2,778 club seats while the rest of the seating is:

only 1,210 bench back bleachers

35,000 bleacher seats with no backs.

So yes, 87.5% seating is what you will find at most (non-TX) HS Stadiums and/or old college stadiums...plain bleachers without back benches.

Still...its an upgrade (especially those in premium seating) from their old stadium.

Some UH fans were some upset/disappointed with how the facade covering turned out.

No school or brand owns a city of 6 million plus.

The important part was to get it built. You can improve the facade easily over an off-season.

Exactly...as most current college stadiums were originally built 60-90 plus years ago and have been renovated multiple times thru the decades but you can't renovate something if you don't first have something built.

Most college stadiums have been renovated...unlike for many professional sport teams...where the life span of some stadiums/arenas are now just 20-30 years...and are torn down and new ones are built (many times with public tax $$).
