What does that matter? You play 4th fiddle to UNC, NC State, and Duke. You seem to be doing ok.

And I give all my State friends **** as often as I can about them not playing you because ECU "Gets up for the game" so it's unfair." Damnit I was mad when yall left this could have been such an awesome rivalry.

State does play us. We beat them every time. Rinse, repeat.

It's still fun. Just like we'll hear it about that UNC game for the rest of our lives. They're so damn cocky.

The first is certainly true. The second maybe true.

What changed ECU's stance? It is an interesting reversal.

There is no reversal. Terry Holland was literally the only person at ECU that wanted you guys in CUSA. The BOT was livid about it and was part of the reason he was ran out of town.

Don't the University Presidents vote on conference membership decisions?

I get Holland was a supporter (& is now history) but he didn't act unilaterally.

I seriously doubt ECU would block ODU. We are going to be recruiting rivals regardless of what conference each of us in. Additionally, having ODU in the same conference would reduce your travel cost.

ODU plays third fiddle to UVA and Va Tech in the Tidewater area. In fact, there are probably as many ECU fans in the Tidewater as there are ODU fans.

ODU will not be part of the AAC now or in the immediate future. Marshall imo, is the best add from Conf USA

What does this even mean? And you're silly if you think there are more ECU fans in the Tidewater area than ODU fans.

He wrote it in a message forum on the internet. It is now true.

First your flat out delusional if you think anyone thinks GA State is anything more than an easy game for most teams. Second the drop in revenue comes from a law that the VA Governor signed into to law that will drop ODU from 75 percent to 55 percent.

BF has consistently been a nay sayer about ODU joining the AAC.
Said it before, say it again. He's scarred. We already consistently dominate them in basketball (admittedly easy to do) and if we have a level playing field it'll only be a matter of time before we start consistently beating them in football.

Marshall is the best fit from CUSA imo.

RE: Why Old Dominion might be the 11th school.....
ECU and terry Hollands rationale for backing ODU and Charlotte to cusa was that we were left out on realignment so we might as well shift to a more regional posture to reflect our diminishing long term prospects. That logic doesn't apply in the AAC and was controversial internally at the time. That said I'm not sure we would block ODU in future realignment. There are a lot of factors involved.

I think ODU has the potential to build a successful program and it would be interesting to see what happens once they are more established and the issues with their stadium and student fees are settled. All that said they are not currently meeting competitive expectations of a serious candidate for the AAC right now. That's not really fair to expect out of a program two years into fbs but it's the reality of the situation.

I don't think that ODU fans and beat writers know how expansion works.

The AAC is not expanding, because the league has not lost any members; but apparently ODU is joining the AAC anyway.

ODU fans are just as delusional as the NIU fans with this expansion talk.

Enjoy CUSA, you're gonna be there a LONG time brother. We'll send you a postcard from the AAC alongside USM who will join us in the AAC

Mike Aresco has said that if we lose two we may stay at 10, so the best chance for anyone wanting in is for us to lose 4 or 1.

I'm familiar with what the law says, I'm confused about what you're trying to say. You may start with more current data though.

The AAC is not likely to be losing members. And even in the AAC did lose members the AAC is still likely to add USM, before adding ODU.

The AAC doesn't have any history. It was just formed. And there is already a 150 page thread saying that USM will be the next team. Speaking of history USM has one with AAC schools. ODU not so much.
